Use [stage management](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.stage_management_create_stage_definition.htm&type=5&language=en_US) to create a stage definition for the depot repair request.

1. From the Navigation bar, open the Return Orders list view page.
2. Select the return order number, and open the corresponding return order record.
3. On the return order record, select the required return order line items for which you want to create a depot repair work order.
4. To create a work order for the selected return order line items, click **Create Work Order**.
5. Select the process type. By default, Depot Repair is selected.
6. Select the work type.
7. To assign this work order, select a user or a service queue. By default, the current user is selected as the owner.
8. Select a parent work order, if applicable.
9. Select the priority of the request.
10. Select a price book for the work order if the return order line item contains a product, product line item, or product record line item.

Ensure that the selected price book includes the products specified in the return order. A price book is not required if the return order line item contains only assets.
11. Click **Save**.

A depot repair work order is created with the associated return order details.

Note When a work order is created, the return order and its line items are linked at the work order line item level, not directly to the work order.
