For automatic allocation, ensure to define product fulfillment locations.
- Open the Order and Work Order record page.
-
In the Inventory Allocation component, select the products to be allocated.
You can allocate inventory either manually or by using auto allocation, depending on your fulfillment needs.
-
To manually allocate inventory:
- Click the Edit icon on a specific product line.
- Select your preferred source locations and respective quantities for allocation.
-
To auto allocate inventory:
- Click the Allocate button.
- In the Allocate Inventory modal, select the Destination Location.
The system suggests a source location based on pre-configured Product Fulfillment Locations. If the suggested location is not suitable, you can select another source location. The Destination Location dropdown only shows locations associated with the account on the order or work order. - To adjust the suggested quantity for an automatic or manual allocation, click the Edit icon. For example, if 20 units are required but you only wish to reserve 15, change the allocation quantity to 15, and click Save.
- Save your changes to initiate the inventory allocation.
A notification confirms when the allocation is complete. Refresh the component to view the updated status:
- Fully Allocated: The allocated quantity matches the requirement.
- Partially Allocated: The allocated quantity is less than the requirement. For example, 15 allocated out of 20 required.
- Not Allocated: No inventory has been reserved, often due to lack of stock at the source location.
