# Add the Archive Component to Lightning Pages

Add an Archive component to Lightning Experience record pages with one of these recommended procedures.

Note For more information on Lightning pages, see [Create and Configure Lightning Experience Record Pages](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.lightning_app_builder_customize_lex_pages.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

## Create a Custom Tag

1. Drag one of the Archive components under Standard Components from the left menu to the newly created custom tab.
2. Complete the Default Child Objects as required.

    ![Important](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-xcloud-setup-264-0-0-production-enus/6f21df35-9ea0-4f53-ac94-45c3b5dfd5bc/images/icon_important.png)

Important A child object appears in **Archive component search** only if a policy is configured for it.
3. Save your work.
4. Click **Activation**.

The results appear to your users as defined, with an overview of the total number of archived records shown.

To expand the results, click a component.

For example, if you want Customer Support users to view archived Cases through the Archive Single Objects component, set Case as the default child object. Only users with a Customer Support profile can see the component.

## Create a Custom Component

1. Go to Setup.
2. Select the Object Manager tab.
3. Select the object to insert the component on its page, such as Account.
4. To access the layout editor, select **Lightning Record Pages**.
5. Select the existing record page or create one.
6. Select **Edit**.
7. Select the location to insert the component on the page.
8. On the Components toolbar, search and select the Archive Single Object or Archive Multiple Objects component.
9. Drag the component to the location.
10. Save your work.
11. Make sure that the page is activated.
12. To return to the object, click **Close**.

## Archive Component Access and Download Control

Standard users can't access archived data through the Archive component and can encounter a `system.security.NoAccessException` error.

Optionally, to turn on component access, assign the Archive View Archived Records user permission.

1. In Setup, locate Permission Sets.
2. Select **Archive View Archived Records**.
3. To assign the user permission to relevant users, click **Manage Assignments**.
4. Click **Add Assignments**.
