# Data Processing Engine Edits Prebuilt App Node Changes

Understand how the Data Processing Engine Edits for Rebates prebuilt app adds grouping and aggregation logic to a Data Processing Engine (DPE) definition.

### Required Editions

By default, the Aggregate by Member with Aggregate Item Details DPE template groups records by rebate type, member, and payout period. And, it aggregates Transaction Amount and Transaction Quantity fields by default.

When you use the prebuilt app to modify a DPE definition that’s cloned from the Aggregate by Member with Aggregate Item Details template, these nodes are modified.

The Data Processing Engine Edits app modifies only the nodes that come by default in an Aggregate by Member with Aggregate Item Details template. If you clone the template, and create or edit the new definition, you must manually update the nodes to introduce grouping and aggregation logic.
