# Set Up Program and Data Ingestion

Before running payout calculations, ensure your program rules, eligibility criteria, and transaction sources are properly configured.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, and <strong>Developer</strong> Editions that have Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced enabled.</td></tr></tbody></table>

1. Get Transaction Journal Records: Populate Transaction Journal records by importing data from partner claims, invoices, or order fulfillments. When accounts are enrolled as active members in rebate programs, the engine calculates payouts using these records. Alternatively, ingest high-volume transaction data directly into Data Cloud staging objects (AccrualAndPayoutInputDayIngest\_dll).
2. Identify Qualifying Members: Ensure each member account has a populated Source Matching Field (e.g., Member Code) so Data Cloud links transactions to the correct member.
3. Define Calculation Logic: Specify calculation logic on the rebate type, such as volume-based, revenue-based, or growth-based targets. Payouts can be structured as an amount per unit, percentage of revenue, or fixed amount.
4. Configure Scaled Benefits: Set up tiered benefits to scale rewards as partners achieve higher targets. Use benefit mappings and custom anchors (such as Region or Territory) to vary benefits across specific business dimensions.
5. Apply Transaction Filtering: Use rebate type filters to include or exclude specific products, product categories, or transaction criteria.
6. Define Settlement Timing: Specify the payout period frequency for calculations, and set the Payout Calculation Date when values finalize. Payout schedules operate independently from accrual tracking schedules, allowing accruals and payouts to run on different timeframes.
