# Advanced Rebate and Accrual Pre-Processing - Rule Configuration

The Rule Configuration DPE reads the rebate type and benefit configuration and creates the reference records that the subsequent DPEs use. No accrual amounts are calculated at this stage.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, and <strong>Developer</strong> Editions that have Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced enabled.</td></tr></tbody></table>

The DPE reads the Aggregation Criteria and Calculation Method you configured on each rebate type and converts them into Input Anchor and Rule Meta records.
