Automate the end-to-end rebate calculation lifecycle on Data Cloud using the
configurable, predefined orchestration flow, Manage Rebate Payout and Accrual Calculations. You
can clone this flow, customize it to meet your business needs, and schedule it to run at regular
intervals. Each run handles continuous data aggregation and incremental payout updates as new
transactions are ingested. When a period's Payout Calculation Date is reached, post-calculation
actions finalize values, update records across Program Rebate Type Payout Source, Program Rebate
Type Payout, and Rebate Program Member Payout, and set the payout and period statuses to
Calculated and Closed.
Required Editions
| Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer
Editions that have Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced enabled. |
Prerequisites
Before using the orchestration flow, activate the Rebate Calculations Post Processing DPE
definition:
- From Setup, enter Data Processing Engine
in the Quick Find box and select it.
- Select Rebate Calculations Post Processing and click
Save As.
- Enter a name (retaining the default API name Rebate_Calculations_Post_Processing is
recommended). If you change the API name, update the BatchCalcJobDefinitionName
variable in the Run Rebate Post Payout Actions flow with the new API name.
- Save and activate the definition.
Manage and Customize Flow Templates
Always clone the out-of-the-box orchestration flow template (Manage Rebate Payout and
Accrual Calculations) rather than running the predefined flow directly. This ensures future
release updates to the template will not overwrite or disrupt active calculation runs.
- Clone and Customize: Clone the provided flow template, customize actions or Data
Processing Engine definitions as needed, and activate it. (Alternatively, build a flow
from scratch using required flow actions and DPE definitions).
- Schedule: Schedule your activated flow to run at regular intervals to process all active
batch transforms continuously at scale.
