# Accruals and Payouts Calculation in Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced

Learn how the Advanced Rebate Engine uses Program Rebate Type configurations to process high-volume transaction data in Data Cloud. By setting independent accrual and payout bases, you can track estimated financial liabilities on a different cadence than finalized cash disbursements.

    Define the calculation basis of a rebate type and add an Accrual Frequency to specify how often to track financial liabilities. In the Advanced engine, you can decouple accruals from payouts to recognize accounting liabilities more frequently than cash disbursements.
