# Adjust Points

Use Adjust Points to manually adjust member’s credited or debited points. The adjustments happen in real time.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience in&nbsp;<strong>Enterprise</strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Performance</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Developer</strong>&nbsp;Editions that have Loyalty Management enabled.</td></tr></tbody></table>

When you adjust traceable currency points, the action creates a corresponding debit or credit ledger.

- For positive adjustments, credit ledgers are created similar to an accrual transaction. When you adjust a traceable currency, the currency subtypes aren’t updated, which means that the credit loyalty ledgers don’t contain a value for the currency subtype.
- For negative adjustments, debit ledgers are created and processed similar to any debit transaction. The event type is Manual Adjustment.

See [How Currency Subtypes Are Debited](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.loyalty_currency_subtype_debit_sequences.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use the Debit Points action in a loyalty program process or flow to debit member points. To process redemption transactions, define the sequence in which currency subtypes are used.").

When you adjust points to debit points from a member, the member's points balance is updated in real time. When you adjust to credit points, points are credited in real time but the points balance is updated in these ways:

| Scenario | Action |
| --- | --- |
| Qualifying points are credited. | Run the Credit Qualifying Points to Members Data Processing Engine definition. |
| The Salesforce org has real-time non-qualifying points balance update turned on and non-qualifying points are credited. | The points are automatically credited to the member's points balance as soon as you make the adjustment. |
| The Salesforce org credits non-qualifying points in batches. | Run the Credit Non-Qualifying Points to Members Data Processing Engine definition. |

1. From the Loyalty Programs tab, select your loyalty program.
2. On the Setup tab, click **Loyalty Program Members**.
3. Select a loyalty program member, and then click **Adjust Points**.

Note To view the Adjust Points quick action, ensure that the Journal Type record named Manual Points Adjustment is available in the org.
4. Select **Points Type**.
5. Select **Adjustment**.
    - To add points, click +.
    - To remove points, click \-.
6. To adjust the points, enter a value.
7. Associate the adjustment with a promotion.
8. If fixed-type non-qualifying points are adjusted, enter the expiration date.

If you specify an expiration date, the system overwrites the expiration date that's automatically calculated based on the currency's expiration period.
9. To adjust points for a different tier group, click **Add Adjustment**.
10. Select the category for adjusting the points.

The default categories are Service Recovery and Resolve Disputed Points. But you can add new values to the category for adjusting the points.
11. Enter comments for the adjustment, if any.
12. Click **Adjust**.
