# Create Volunteer Initiatives

Set up initiatives for volunteers to help your organization accomplish its goals. Specify start and end dates, the number of volunteers needed, and the total number of volunteer hours to be filled.

### Required Editions

1. From the Volunteer Initiatives page, click **New**.
2. On the New Volunteer Initiative window, enter the name of the initiative.
3. If this is an initiative that is part of a larger initiative, search for and select the parent volunteer initiative.
    
    You can have up to 1,000 child initiatives per parent initiative.
4. Fill out the fields that are applicable to the initiative.
5. If you have an Experience Cloud site that you want to make this initiative available in, select **Published**.
6. Save your work.

The new initiative is available on the Volunteer Initiative page.
