Create job positions before you create job position shifts.

To create individual shifts for any job position, from the Job Position Shifts page, click **New**. To create a schedule of multiple shifts for a job position, or to create multiple one-time shifts, do so from the Job Position page.

1. From the Job Position page, click **Create a Shift Schedule**.

The Create a Shift Schedule window opens.

If you don’t see the Create a Shift Schedule action button, click ![Open action menu button options.](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-nonprofit_cloud-264-0-0-production-enus/b335b49f-b06d-4153-a454-da90077289d9/nonprofit_cloud/images/down_60.png), and then select **Create a Shift Schedule**.
2. Set a start date and time.
3. Set and end date and time.
4. Set the maximum number of volunteers who can be assigned to the scheduled shifts.

The number of volunteer assignments are limited to this shift capacity.
5. To set a recurring schedule based on this shift, click **Add Schedule** and then select **Add Recurring Schedule**.
    1. Set the start date and time, the end date and time, and the maximum number of volunteers who can be assigned to the scheduled shifts.
    2. Select a recurrence option.

For example, select Weekly or Biweekly to set the days of the week for the shift. Or select Monthly to have the shift occur once per month until the set end date or after completing the number of recurrences set. To set a daily schedule, select Weekly, and then select all the days of the week.
    3. Set the end date or the number of shift recurrences to end the schedule after.
6. To add another one time or recurring schedule to this job position, click **Add Schedule**.
7. Save your work.

The new shift is shown on the Job Position Shifts page. An alphanumeric name is automatically assigned to the shift.
