Assign permissions, turn on the feature, configure locations and operating hours, and set a default status for job position assignments.").

## Add Person Location Availability

Add the availability of a person at specific locations of your organization or initiatives and use the information to help match volunteers to job positions.

## Add Person Competencies

To better match volunteers to your initiatives, add your volunteers’ competencies that they can use while volunteering with your organization. A Person Competency has to have a Qualification Level (QL) set to appear as a match to a volunteer search. Matching evaluates the QL, which is an integer. Matching doesn’t evaluate the Proficiency Level, which is a dynamic value, such as Beginner or Intermediate.

Create competencies that serve your organization’s mission and initiatives. For more information, see [Create Competencies](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.volunteer_mgmt_set_up_volunteer_management.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Define the skills needed for your initiatives so you can match the right volunteers to the right positions. Create competencies that meet the needs of the job positions that support your initiatives.").

1. From the App Launcher, search for person, and select **Person Competencies**.
2. Click **New**.
3. In New Person Competency, select the person’s proficiency level.
4. Select an account or contact record for the person.
5. Find and select the person’s competency.
6. Add more competency details as appropriate.
    1. Add a qualification level.
    2. Add the date that your organization verified the competency.
    3. Add an effective start date for the competency.
    4. Add an effective end date for the competency.
    5. Add a summary of verification of the competency.
7. Save your work.

## Add Person Examinations

Add examinations that a person has completed that qualifies them for a license or permit needed to volunteer with your organization.

Create exams that qualify volunteers to fill certain positions. For more information, see [Create Examinations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.volunteer_mgmt_set_up_volunteer_management.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Create examinations that qualify volunteers for licenses or permits that are required or preferred to work with your organization.").

1. From the App Launcher, search for person, and select **Person Examinations**.

    4. Add the person’s exam score.
    5. Add the date and time that the exam was verified by your organization.
6. Save your work.

## Add Volunteer Details to the Person Account Page

Get details on your volunteers without leaving their Person Account pages. To see all of a volunteer’s information from their account page, add their location availability, competencies, and other relevant information to the related list.

    - Job Position Assignments
    - Person Competencies
    - Person Examinations
    - Person Location Availabilities
5. Save your work.

The volunteer details appear on the person account page.
