Note Beginning in April 2026, agent topics are now called subagents. There are no changes to functionality. During this transition, you may see a mix of the new and previous terms in our documentation.

With the Shift Capacity and Coverage topic, volunteer managers can use agents to identify unfilled volunteer shifts. The Shift Capacity and Coverage topic contains the [Find Unfilled Shifts](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.agent_ref_volunteer_mgmt_find_unfilled_shifts.htm&language=en_US) and the [Match Volunteers to Shifts](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.agent_ref_volunteer_mgmt_match_volunteers_to_shifts.htm&language=en_US) actions.

- **[Volunteer Management Agent Considerations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.volunteer_mgmt_agent_considerations.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**

The Volunteer Management Agent helps your team manage volunteer shift capacity and coverage. Configure the Shift Capacity and Coverage subagent to add those capabilities to an Agentforce Employee Agent.
- **[Use the Shift Capacity and Coverage Subagent](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.volunteer_mgmt_use_the_volunteer_management_agent.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Use the Shift Capacity and Coverage subagent to find underfilled volunteer shifts, review open roles, and identify available volunteers who match those roles. Volunteer managers can access the agent from any page in the Nonprofit Cloud CRM.
