# Manage Email for Appointments (Support Staff)

Learn how to manage emails related to appointments in Student Success Hub.

- **[Email Students from the Appointment Manager](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ssh_user_email_appointments.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
From the Appointment Manager, you can send email to any student with an appointment (and a student record Case).
- **[Specify Your Appointment Email Notification Preferences](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ssh_user_email_appointments.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
If your Student Success Hub administrator has enabled appointment-related email notifications, you can use them to keep tabs on appointment activity or you can turn them off for a quieter inbox.

## Email Students from the Appointment Manager

From the Appointment Manager, you can send email to any student with an appointment (and a student record Case).

1. While viewing an appointment in the Appointment Manager, do one of the following:

    - To email a single student, locate the card with the student's name in the Appointment Details panel, click **Action**, and then click **Send Email**.
    - To email all of the students in a group appointment, click **Action** under the Appointment Details and Attendee Snapshot panels and then click **Send Email to All Attendees**.
2. Write the email and send it.

## Specify Your Appointment Email Notification Preferences

If your Student Success Hub administrator has enabled appointment-related email notifications, you can use them to keep tabs on appointment activity or you can turn them off for a quieter inbox.

1. Open your Email Notification Settings from the Appointment Manager or from your User profile.

    - In the Appointment Manager, click ![The Settings icon in the Appointment Manager](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-student_success_hub-264-0-0-production-enus/b7ac11a0-381d-499e-afd5-05e856602032/student_success_hub/images/ssh_user_am_settings_icon.png).
    - In the page header, click your User icon, and then click your name. In the Appointment Availability component, click **Edit My Availability**.
2. Under Email Notification Settings, select the types of appointment emails you want to receive.

    - Get Appointment Confirmation Emails whenever a student schedules a new appointment with you.
    - Get appointment update emails whenever someone changes appointment details, such as the time or location.
    - Get Appointment Cancellation Emails whenever someone cancels an appointment.
3. Save your changes.

Keep in mind these guidelines.

- When you turn on emails, you get them regardless of who scheduled, updated, or canceled the appointment—whether it's the student, someone handling appointment scheduling on your behalf, or you yourself.
- Your personal settings control only whether _you_ receive notifications. Even if you've turned off one or more notification types, students continue to receive them.
- In Group Appointments, the organizer only gets email notifications when the number of attendees, including the organizer, is less than or equal to two.
