## Update the Chatbot's Name

By default, the Student Success chatbot is named Student Success Chatbot. The chatbot's name appears in the bot's initial greeting to the student. Update the chatbot's name for your institution.

1. From Setup, search for and then select **Einstein Bots**.
2. In the My Bots section, click **Student Success Chatbot**.
3. From the Bot Builder menu, select **Overview**.
4. In the Bot Information section, click **Edit**.
5. Update the Bot Display Name.
6. Save your changes.
7. From the Bot Builder menu, select **Dialogs**.
8. From the navigation pane, select the **Welcome** dialog.
9. Edit the first welcome message that includes the chatbot's name.
10. Save your changes.

## Update the Chatbot User

To allow the chatbot to perform actions in your org, specify a Bot User based on the chatbot security approach that you decided to take.

See [Set Up Security for the Student Success Chatbot](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ssh_setup_chatbot_security.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Decide how you want to manage the chatbot's permissions.").

1. From the Bot Builder menu, select **Overview**.
2. In the Settings section, edit the Bot User card, and then select **Custom Chatbot User**.
3. In Custom Chatbot User, specify the user.
4. Save your changes.

## Set Up the Chatbot Channel

Before you activate a chatbot, it needs to know where to work and how to work. Give the chatbot its work orders by assigning it to the Chat channel.

1. From the Bot Builder menu, select **Overview**.
2. Add a channel to the bot.

    1. In the Channels section, click **Add**.
    2. For Channel, select **Text**.
    3. For Deployment, enter your messaging SMS number. If you didn't make note of it when you set up the messaging channel, you can find it in Setup. Search for and then select **Messaging Settings**. Select **Channels**, and then select **Messaging Platform Key**.

        ![Tip](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-student_success_hub-264-0-0-production-enus/b7ac11a0-381d-499e-afd5-05e856602032/images/icon_tip.png)

Tip If you have trouble with the search, try omitting the plus sign from the SMS number. For example, instead of searching for +15145550000, search for 15145550000.

Or, if you're using an embedded service deployment, enter its name. For example, Student Success Chatbot.
    4. Leave Require Agent Online unselected.
    5. Save your changes.

## Update the Chatbot's Branding

Configure the chatbot window's general branding on the Embedded Service Deployment page.

See [Customize the General Branding for Your Chat Window](https://help.salesforce.com/articleview?id=service.snapins_chat_branding.htm&type=5) and [Customize Additional Chat Branding](https://help.salesforce.com/articleview?id=service.snapins_customize_additional_branding.htm&type=5) in Salesforce Help.

## Customize Chat Dialogs

Dialogs are conversation snippets that consist of outgoing messages, questions, actions, and rules. Dialogs control what a chatbot can do.

The Student Success chatbot contains preconfigured dialogs. You can customize them or create your own. Before customizing or creating your own dialogs, see [Understand Einstein Bot Dialogs](https://help.salesforce.com/articleview?id=service.bots_service_dialog_about.htm&type=5) in Salesforce Help.

## Activate the Chatbot

After you've configured and customized the Student Success chatbot, activate it.

1. From the Bot Builder menu, select **Overview**.
2. Click **Activate**.

Now you're ready to implement the chatbot in a messaging channel or on an Experience Cloud site.
