# Security for Student Success Hub

Student Success Hub provides a flexible approach to security that uses standard Salesforce profiles, permission sets, and sharing settings. This approach lets you expose different data sets to different groups of users. For example, staff and admins typically have more permissions than students.

- **[Learn About Student Success Hub Security](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ssh_setup_security_about.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Configure security in Student Success Hub so that support staff have access to the tools they need to do their jobs and to use the app.
- **[Student Success Hub Profiles](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ssh_profiles.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Set up profiles for your staff, admins, and students, and grant the required access to Apex classes and relevant record types.
- **[Student Success Hub Permissions](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ssh_permissions.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Student Success Hub provides permission sets to help you manage access to objects, fields, and the app. Permission sets are additive—they only grant access, they can’t take it away. You can assign multiple permission sets as needed, and it doesn't matter what profile a user has. Keep in mind that Users can have only one profile, but they can have multiple permission sets.
- **[Student Success Hub Sharing Settings](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ssh_sharing_settings.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Review and edit the org-wide default sharing settings for the objects that Student Success Hub uses.
