Note Requires a Customer Community Plus or Customer Community Plus Login license, such as through Experience Cloud for Learner Success.

A lot of appointment availability and appointment scheduling functionality relies on [SSH Hierarchy Settings](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ssh_reference_custom_settings.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Review the SSH Hierarchy Settings and SSH Queuing Settings in Custom Settings.") in Custom Settings. These settings allow you to customize the use of record types, Event types, appointment locations, and more. The Default Organization Level Value must have all values specified. Upon installation, some of these values are already set. Others require some setup.

Keep in mind these guidelines:

- When specifying record type values in custom settings, use the API name, not the label. For example, use SupportEvent, not Support Event.
- Custom settings records are automatically created for individual users at the time that they update their appointment availability settings. If Student Success Hub isn't working correctly for one support staff member but works for other users with the same role, profile, and assigned permission sets, consider checking the SSH Hierarchy Settings record for the individual user.
- Once Student Success Hub is configured in production, any sandbox created from production maintains the correct custom settings. However, custom settings data can't be moved between environments via change set or metadata deployment. Any new environment requires that you configure those settings again manually.
