# PMM Create Program Cohorts

Create and work with program cohorts. Add program engagements to a program cohort.

## Work With Program Cohorts

Use Program Cohorts to group Program Engagements based on program cycle, location, date, or any other metric that's meaningful to your organization.

An example Program Cohort is anyone enrolled in a support group for a particular program cycle.

## Create a Program Cohort

Create Program Cohorts to group Program Engagements together for tracking and reporting purposes.

1. Click the **Program Cohorts** tab.
2. Click **New**.
3. Enter a Program Cohort Name.
4. Select a Status.
5. Select the Program.
6. Provide a description of the Program Cohort and its purpose.
7. Set the start and end dates.
8. Click **Save**.

## Add Program Engagements to a Program Cohort

You can add multiple Program Engagements to a Program Cohort from a Program Engagement list view, provided you have permission to edit the objects and records on that list.

This is helpful if you want to segment clients you've recently enrolled in a Program into Program Cohorts, or if you're creating a new Program Cohort for all the Program Engagements in a Program.

Depending on [what your admin has enabled](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.pmm_enable_add_to_program_cohort_mass_updates.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Allow users to add multiple Program Engagements to a single Program Cohort directly from a Program Engagement list view."), the process to add Program Engagements to a Program Cohort from a list view will involve either using a quick action or using enhanced list view functionality.

1. Click the **Program Engagements** tab.
2. From ![List view control icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-program_management_module-264-0-0-production-enus/443b48d5-82c1-45d8-a7f7-2c07521b8b28/resources-product/images/listviewscontrol.png), select **New**.
3. Enter a list view name, for example Add Program Engagements to Cohort, then click
    
    **Save**.
4. From ![List view control icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-program_management_module-264-0-0-production-enus/443b48d5-82c1-45d8-a7f7-2c07521b8b28/resources-product/images/listviewscontrol.png), select **Select Fields to Display**.
5. Move **Stage** and **Program Cohort** from Available Fields to Visible Fields, then click **Save**.
6. Optionally, click **Add Filter** to add filters so you can easily find the Program Engagements to add to the Program Cohort.
7. Depending on what your admin has enabled:
    
    - If you see the **Add to Program Cohort** button:
        
        - Select the Program Engagements to add.
        - Click **Add to Program Cohort**.
        - Search for and select the Program Cohort, then click **Save**.
        - Click **OK**.
    - Or, if you don't see the **Add to Program Cohort** button:
        
        - If your list view has multiple record types, filter the list view by a single record type.
        - Select the Program Engagements to add to the Program Cohort.
        - Next to one of the selected Program Engagements, in the Program Cohort column, click ![Edit](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-program_management_module-264-0-0-production-enus/443b48d5-82c1-45d8-a7f7-2c07521b8b28/resources-product/images/pencilIcon.png) .
            
            - Search for and select a Program Cohort.
            - Select **Update selected items**.
            - Click **Apply**.

        - Click **Save**.
