# Upgrade Outbound Funds Module

If you were an early adopter of Outbound Funds Module and are using a version prior to 1.15, the Funding Request object has a master-detail relationship to the Funding Program object. This relationship was updated in version 1.15 (released July 2019) to be a lookup relationship that allows for greater flexibility and scalability.

Salesforce.org introduced automatic push upgrades to Outbound Funds in version 1.17, so if you are using version 1.17 or higher, you don't need to take any action.

    Export your data, specifically from the Funding Program and Funding Request objects, before making modifications.
- **[2\. Install the Temporary Package](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ofm_upgrade.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**  
    After you’ve exported your data, install a temporary package of Outbound Funds Module. This package removes the master-detail field on the Funding Request and removes all related fields, such as rollups on the Funding Program and Reports.

    Now, you’re ready to install the latest upgrade package.

    Update the Funding Request object and then add the Funding Program and Owner fields to the Funding Program page layout.

## 1\. Export Your Data

Export your data, specifically from the Funding Program and Funding Request objects, before making modifications.

## 2\. Install the Temporary Package

After you’ve exported your data, install a temporary package of Outbound Funds Module. This package removes the master-detail field on the Funding Request and removes all related fields, such as rollups on the Funding Program and Reports.

1. Navigate to the [temporary package installer](https://login.salesforce.com/?ec=302&starturl=%2fpackaging%2finstallpackage.apexp%3fp0%3d04tf4000004pq3g).
2. Select **Install for Admins Only**.
3. Select the **I acknowledge** statement.
4. Click **Upgrade**.

    Important This package doesn’t upgrade Outbound Funds Module to the latest version.

## 3\. Delete Dependencies

Now that your data is exported and the temporary package is installed, there are several fields and Reports, along with any automation you have previously set up, that need to be deleted. Deleting data sounds scary, but we’ll walk you through each area that may be impacted.

Important Make sure your data is exported and saved before deleting any data. If you perform a hard delete, you won’t be able to access it again.

### Funding Program

Delete the master-detail fields from the Funding Program object that reference Funding Requests. Additionally, delete any custom roll-up fields from the Funding Request to the Funding Program.

1. From ![Setup icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-outbound_funds_module-264-0-0-production-enus/2f847b24-f1f1-4ef3-9181-163efc8e0a07/resources-product/images/setup.png), click **Object Manager**.
2. Click **Funding Program**.
3. Click **Fields & Relationships**.
4. Delete the following fields by clicking ![Show more button](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-outbound_funds_module-264-0-0-production-enus/2f847b24-f1f1-4ef3-9181-163efc8e0a07/resources-product/images/show_more_actions_icon.png) then selecting **Delete**.
    
    1. outfunds\_\_Available\_Amount\_\_c formula
    2. outfunds\_\_Requested\_Total\_\_c
    3. outfunds\_\_Pending\_Disbursement\_Total\_\_c
    4. outfunds\_\_Disbursed\_Total\_\_c
    5. outfunds\_\_Awarded\_Total\_\_c

5. Click your profile image, then select **Switch to Salesforce Classic**.
6. Click **Setup**.
7. Search for then select **Funding Program**.
8. Click **Deleted Fields**.
9. Click **Erase**.
10. Select **Yes, I want to permanently delete the custom field**.
11. Click **Delete**.
12. Repeat this for all fields deleted in step 4.
13. Click **Switch to Lightning Experience**.

### Funding Program Lightning Page

If you have created a Lightning Page to display Funding Requests as a related list on the Funding Program, remove it from your Funding Program Lightning Record Page layout. This is only required if you created a custom Funding Program Lightning Record Page.

1. From ![Setup icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-outbound_funds_module-264-0-0-production-enus/2f847b24-f1f1-4ef3-9181-163efc8e0a07/resources-product/images/setup.png), click **Object Manager**.
2. Click **Funding Program**.
3. Click **Lightning Record Pages**.
4. Click your custom Lightning Record Page.
5. Click **Edit**.
6. Remove the Funding Request related list and any other Lightning components that reference Funding Requests.
7. Click **Save**.

### Workflows

Delete or deactivate any automation, such as processes or flows, that link Funding Program and Funding Request. See [Delete a Process Version](https://help.salesforce.com/articleview?id=platform.process_delete.htm&type=5) or [Activate or Deactivate a Flow](https://help.salesforce.com/articleview?id=platform.flow_distribute_activate.htm&type=5) in Salesforce Help for more information.

### Reports

Delete existing Reports that reference the Funding Request object, including custom-made reports.

1. From ![App Launcher](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-outbound_funds_module-264-0-0-production-enus/2f847b24-f1f1-4ef3-9181-163efc8e0a07/resources-product/images/app_launcher_grey.png), find and select **Reports**.
2. Click **All Reports**.
3. Remove these reports by clicking (down arrow), then selecting **Delete**:
    
    1. Funding Program Analytics
    2. Awarded Requests by Year by Program
    3. Awarded Requests Sorted by Program Codes
4. Delete any custom reports that reference the Funding Request.

### Funding Request

Delete the Funding Program field from the Funding Request.

1. Click your profile image, then select **Switch to Salesforce Classic**.
2. Click **Setup**.
3. In the Quick Find Box, search for then select **Funding Request**.
4. Under Custom Fields & Relationships, click **Del** next to Funding Program (Funding\_Program\_\_c).
5. Select **Yes, I want to delete the relationship**.
6. Click **Delete**.

## 4\. Install the Latest Package

Now, you’re ready to install the latest upgrade package.

1. Navigate to the [upgrade package installer](https://install.salesforce.org/products/outbound-funds).
2. Select **Install for All Users**.
3. Click **Upgrade**.

## 5\. Configure Your Org

Update the Funding Request object and then add the Funding Program and Owner fields to the Funding Program page layout.

### Update Funding Request

Update the FundingProgram\_\_c field on the Funding Request object with the original value before upgrading from the Funding\_Program\_\_c field on the Funding Request. This should be part of your exported data.

### Add Funding Request as a Related List

Add Funding Requests as a Related List on Funding Programs.

1. From ![Setup icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-outbound_funds_module-264-0-0-production-enus/2f847b24-f1f1-4ef3-9181-163efc8e0a07/resources-product/images/setup.png), click **Object Manager**.
2. Click **Funding Program**.
3. Click **Page Layouts**.
4. Click **Funding Program Layout**.
5. Drag and drop Funding Requests into Related Lists.
6. Click **Save**.
7. Click **Yes** to overwrite a user’s related list customizations.

### Update the Funding Program Page Layout

Add the Funding Program and Owner fields to the Funding Program Page Layout.

2. Click **Funding Program**.
3. Click **Page Layouts**.
4. Click **Funding Program Layout**.
5. Drag and drop Funding Program then Owner into the Information section of the Funding Program Detail.
6. Click **Save**.
