# Post Installation Configuration

Start here if you installed Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) on top of your existing Salesforce org.

If you installed NPSP from the Trial, the required and recommended configuration steps have been done for you. You can skip ahead to [Feature Configuration](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.npsp_feat_config_overview.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "NPSP introduces many new features over time. If you aren't starting from a new Trial, you have to enable or configure those features before you can use them. And as an admin, you have control over what to implement in your org (and when).").

Note Always install products and test configuration in a Sandbox environment before doing so in your Production organization. Use the Sandbox to verify that you don’t unintentionally overwrite any of your own custom page layouts, record types, or other customizations.
