# Add Custom Fields to the Recurring Donation Entry Form

NPSP provides an entry form for Recurring Donations. Add your custom Recurring Donation fields to the entry form.

NPSP overrides the standard New and Edit buttons for Recurring Donations with a custom entry form. The custom entry form helps users enter Recurring Donations correctly. For example, the available fields on the entry form change based on whether the Recurring Type is Open or Fixed.

When you add custom fields to the Recurring Donations page layout, they're visible on record detail pages but not editable in the entry form. If you want users to edit your custom fields, you must add them to the entry form.

Let's say that your fundraising team wants to record notes about Recurring Donations as they enter or edit them. To fulfill the request, you create a text field entitled Stewardship Notes and add it to the entry form.

To add a custom field to the Recurring Donation entry form:

1. In **Setup**, go to **Object Manager** | **Recurring Donation**.
2. Click **Field Sets**.
3. Click **Recurring Donations Entry Form Custom Fields**.
4. Click and drag a custom field from the list of available fields to the section labeled **In The Field Set**. In our example, we place **Stewardship Notes** in the field set.
5. Click **Save**.

Your custom field appears in the **Custom Fields** section of the Recurring Donations entry form.

Note You can only add your own custom fields to the entry form, not fields included in NPSP.
