# About Managing Duplicate Contacts

Contact Merge in Data Integrity makes it easy to find and merge duplicate Contacts in Salesforce.

From the Contact Merge tab, click **Search Contacts** to search for individual Contacts. You can also click **See Duplicate Contacts** to see a list of duplicate record sets, but you'll need to [set up duplicate detection](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ip_manage_duplicate_rules.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Create Matching Rules and Duplicate Rules, and run a duplicate job to see a list of duplicate records.") first.

Before using Contact Merge, it's important to think about how your organization handles duplicate Contacts when they're found. For example, you may want to document a workflow or decision matrix, including the criteria you set up in your Matching Rules, to make reviewing and merging duplicates easier.
