## What's Included

When you install Grants Management, you get a managed package that contains essential metadata and custom code. It’s important to note that you can’t modify the components, such as objects and fields. They're locked with limited edit access so that the managed package can be upgraded later.

For details about managed and unmanaged packages, see [Understanding Packages](https://help.salesforce.com/articleview?id=sharing_apps.htm) in Salesforce Help.

## Prerequisites

Before you install Grants Management, make sure you have the required licenses and settings turned on.

## Decide Which Installer to Use

Setting up a new grantmaking portal can be intimidating. We have two installers to choose from depending on your experience setting up Digital Experiences and sharing sets.

You can choose either the _Grants Management_ installer_,_ which includes limited configuration, or the _Grants Management and Build Community_ installer, which includes base features and additional configurations to help you quickly set up your portal.

Use the _Grants Management_ installer if you have unique processes and are comfortable configuring Digital Experiences and sharing sets. This includes core features of Grants Management , including:

Use the _Grants Management and Build Community_ installer if you want additional Digital Experience configuration and a preconfigured sharing set. This includes core features of Grants Management as well as:

- A grantseeker profile (Grantseeker Plus Login) with preconfigured object and field permissions that gives the grantseeker access to apply for funding.
- The Manage Grants, Invitation Wizard, and Manage - Verifications permission sets. These need to be individually assigned to users for full access to Grants Management .
- Several flows that automate steps in the application process for a grantseeker.
- Quick actions to streamline navigation and provide powerful functionality to both grantmakers and grantseekers.

- A grantseeker sharing set that gives the grantseeker profile the ability to view their Funding Requests and assigned Requirements.
- A new Experience Cloud site leveraging the Grantee Portal site template. This site template is preconfigured with fictitious information you can update and quickly launch your grantee portal.
