1. [Define a case record type specifically for philanthropic research requests](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.creating_record_types.htm&type=5&language=en_US) to distinguish it from other types of cases.

Make sure that the record type is available to the appropriate profiles.
2. Modify the Create Case flow.
    1. From Setup, find and select **Flows**.
    2. Select **Create Case**.
    3. Click **Save as New Flow**.
    4. Replace the Create Case Record element with a Decision element. The Decision element determines whether a case record matches the philanthropic research request type.
    5. In the Yes path, add a Create Records element, and set the field value for contact ID.

Set additional values as needed, such as description, record type ID, or subject. To locate the record type ID, see [Find the Salesforce ID of a Record Type](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000384487&type=1&language=en_US).

Note To avoid issues when you deploy the flow from a sandbox org production, make sure that the record ID is the same in both orgs.
    6. In the No (Default) path, add a Create Records element to create a default record type.
    7. Save and activate the flow.
3. Modify the Prospect Research: Create Party Philanthropic Research Profile flow.
    1. From Setup, find and select **Flows**.
    2. Select **Prospect Research: Create Party Philanthropic Research Profile**.
    3. Click **Save as New Flow**.
    4. For the Get Case element, add a condition where the Record Type ID equals the ID of the philanthropic research request case record type.
    5. (Optional) For the Create Party Philanthropic Research Profile element, set the field values for research profile phase and research profile type to your own picklist values.
    6. Save and activate the flow.
