Close a gift commitment when you no longer need to track it.

1. From the App Launcher (![App Launcher](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-nonprofit_cloud-264-0-0-production-enus/b335b49f-b06d-4153-a454-da90077289d9/resources-product/images/fundraising/icon_applauncher.png)), find and select **Gift Commitments**.
2. Select the gift commitment that you want to close.
3. Click ![Show More](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-nonprofit_cloud-264-0-0-production-enus/b335b49f-b06d-4153-a454-da90077289d9/resources-product/images/actions_menu.png), and then select **Close Gift Commitment**.

After you close a gift commitment, the status of the unpaid or failed gift transactions is updated depending on the value of the Formal Commitment Type field.
