## foundationConnect Release Notes - December 2023

Grantee 11.54, Reviewer 4.33

### Issues Closed

**Grantee Portal**

- Security vulnerabilities on visualforce pages for signup pages, portal applications, inquiries pages for grant seekers, and application config pages for admins.
- Concurrent edit issues. When an application is being edited at the same time and one edit session saves the application with a Status other than Submitted, a concurrent edit session can save changes to the application. The second edit session changes the Status back to In Progress.
- When an application's data or metadata contains fields inaccessible to the grant seeker, the applicant receives an insufficient permissions error.
- Questions added through community manager usually have the same order number causing the questions to move positions during the application process or in the summary view.
- Untranslatable error message "This record is no longer editable, please refresh the page" when trying to update an application.

**Reviewer Portal**

- Security vulnerabilities on visualforce pages for user-facing visualforce pages.
- Misleading field description on External Review for the Deadline field.
- Untranslatable error message "This record is no longer editable, please return to Reviewer dashboard" when trying to update an application.

### Installation

You need the latest version of foundationConnect's Base and Grantee package for the Reviewer package to install successfully.

## foundationConnect Release Notes - January 23, 2023

Grantee Portal 11.52

### Batch Update of Usernames

We modified the batch process that updates site usernames to work with Enhanced Domains to:

- Update Partner Community Login usernames in addition to Partner Community.
- Exclude disabled portal users and usernames that aren't email addresses.

### Welcome Email

We no longer support the Send Welcome Email feature. We recommend instead exploring Flows to automate sending welcome emails for these portals. To deactivate the Send Welcome Email feature:

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Digital Experiences, and then select **All Sites**.
2. Click **Workspaces** next to your Reviewer Portal.
3. Click **Administration**.
4. Click **Emails**.
5. Under Email Templates, deselect **Send welcome email**.
6. Save your work.

### Installation

Read [Install or Upgrade foundationConnect](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.fc_install_upgrade.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Review the foundationConnect installation prerequisites and considerations depending on which products you already have.") for instructions on using the installer to upgrade.

## foundationConnect Release Notes - October 4, 2022

Grantee Portal 11.51

We added a batch process to update site usernames to work with Enhanced Domains.

Salesforce will require Enhanced Domains in a coming release. Learn more in [Enhanced Domains Timeline](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleview?id=xcloud.domain_name_enhanced_timeline.htm&type=5). When Enhanced Domains are enabled, your site URLs change and your constituents can't log into your site because their usernames don't match the updated domain. To avoid disruption, enable Enhanced Domain for foundationConnect, and then run a batch to update your usernames for users and portal users.

### Prepare to Run Batch Update of Usernames

After you enable Enhanced Domains, your site users can't log in until their usernames are updated to work with Enhanced Domains. To minimize disruption for your users, plan when to enable Enhanced Domains and run the batch update. We also recommend adding a notification to your login page to let your users know why they can't log in.

Prepare to run the batch.

1. Enable [Enhanced Domains](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleview?id=xcloud.domain_name_enhanced.htm&type=5).
2. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Domains, and then select **Domains**.
3. Select and copy the Domain Name for the Community My Domain.
4. Enter Custom Settings in the Quick Find Box, then select **Custom Settings**.
5. Click **Manage** next to Global Portal Settings.
6. Edit your Default Organization Level Value.
7. In Username Suffix, paste the domain name for your Community My Domain.
8. Save your work.
9. Delete scheduled jobs that involve the InstanceRefreshBatchable apex class.
10. Turn off your custom automation that runs on the Portal User and Users objects. This automation includes, Process Builder, Flows, Workflow, Validation Rules, and Custom Apex Triggers. The foundationConnect batch process turns off the packaged automation for these objects.

### Run Batch Update of Usernames

1. Confirm that you completed the prerequisites in Prepare to Run Batch Update of Usernames including updating the Username Suffix.
2. Click ![Setup gear icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-foundation_connect-264-0-0-production-enus/4412bd03-b109-4e35-8baf-6d18e783b100/resources-product/images/setup.png), then click **Developer Console**.
3. Click **Debug** | **Open Execute Anonymous Window**.
4. In the window, enter:

    FGM\_Portal.UserUsernameUpdateBatch ObjTestBatch = new

    FGM\_Portal.UserUsernameUpdateBatch();

    Database.executeBatch(ObjTestBatch);
5. Click **Execute**.

Salesforce sends emails to the Salesforce admin who ran the script when the batch starts and when it's done. If you don't get an email when the batch begins, check the batch job. Learn more in [Monitoring the Apex Job Queue](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleview?id=platform.code_apex_job.htm&type=5). If the batch fails, make sure you completed all the steps in Prepare to Run Batch Update of Usernames and re-run the batch.

In orgs with many users, it takes a little while for the changes to take effect across your portals. The batch job only processes users of the Grantee Portal or the Reviewer Portal. Any user from another custom portal will not be affected. When the batch completes successfully and the org's been updated:

- User and Portal User Usernames include the Enhanced Domain.
- Your users can log into your site.
- It's safe to turn on custom automation and validation for the User and Portal User objects.

![Important](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-foundation_connect-264-0-0-production-enus/4412bd03-b109-4e35-8baf-6d18e783b100/images/icon_important.png)

Important Update any links to your portals with the new Enhanced Domain URLs, and we recommend communicating the updated URLs to your constituents.

## foundationConnect Release Notes - July 13, 2021

Grantee 11.48, Reviewer 4.31

### Changes

The user registration process in the grantee and reviewer portals was originally designed to store encrypted user passwords on the Portal User record. It's possible for an internal foundationConnect user to access this information if they have View Encrypted Data permissions. In an effort to provide enhanced security, we released updates to prevent future user passwords from being stored on the User record.

The new user registration on grantee and reviewer portals now follow the standard Salesforce password creation process. We have included an optional Apex batch script as part of this package to update your orgs for enhanced security for new portal registrations and have provided steps to clear any existing initial portal user passwords stored within your orgs. Documentation on those steps can be found [here](https://trailhead.salesforce.com/trailblazer-community/feed/0d54s00000bueegsaf).

### Issues Closed

**Grantee Portal**

- The review page has duplicate buttons rendered for Back to Record, Print, and Submit.
- Changing State and Country selections during grantee portal registration doesn't update the State field if a grantee updates the Country field from one that has a state to a country without states.
- The Portal User Zip Code field allows up to 50 characters, but the Zip Code field on Contact and Account objects only allow 20.
- When two grantee portal users are both working on the same application at the same time and one submits the application, the application still remains in an editable state.
- Direct links to specific campaign records don't re-direct users to that page upon login

**Reviewer Portal**

- The reviewer dashboard will not render when the Lead field from the external review is added to the reviewer dashboard fieldset.

### Installation

## foundationConnect Release Notes - May 18, 2021

Base 5.32, Grantee 11.47, Reviewer 4.30

### Changes

- The FC\_Validation\_Rule\_ErrorMsg error message now shows "Complete the following fields to save changes on this tab" on grantee and reviewer portals.

**Grantee Portal**

- We fixed an error that prevented Opportunity Team Members from registering due to a setting that required passwords to be 13 characters. This fix introduces the following changes for the invited Opportunity Team Member.

    - **Welcome Email Turned On**

        - If welcome emails are turned on in the Experience site Workspace, two emails are sent to an invited Opportunity Team Member: Reset Password and Welcome emails. Both emails contain a reset password link. The invited Opportunity Team Member should use the link in the Welcome email to register for an account.
    - **Welcome Email Turned Off**

        - If welcome emails are turned off in the Experience site Workspace, a Reset Password email is sent to the invited Opportunity Team Member. We reverted an update introduced in our previous release that required the submitted by field being blank when reopening requests for editing in the grantee portal.
- The Active checkbox is selected automatically when an Opportunity Team Member registers and their account is created.

**Reviewer Portal**

- Checkboxes on a child object related to the Opportunity now show as "true" or "false" on the reviewer portal.

### Issues Closed

**Grantee Portal**

- Warning messages appear outside of the tab where the required field exists in the grantee portal.
- A grantee must be the parent Opportunity owner or creator to see the delete option on an application.
- Delete, View, and Edit don't show correctly on a custom tab on an application. Grantees see more records than they have access to on the Amendments tab.

![Note](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-foundation_connect-264-0-0-production-enus/4412bd03-b109-4e35-8baf-6d18e783b100/images/icon_note.png)

Note In this update, payment amendments created by an Opportunity Team Member aren't visible to the grantee; however, payment amendments created by the grantee are visible to the Opportunity Team Member.

**Grantee Report**

- Country isn't included as a data type in the address formula options in the Grantee Report.

**Reviewer Portal**

- Reviewers don't see errors if they try to edit and save a record when the review is in a non-editable status.
- The reviewer portal doesn't show Questions of a child Opportunity that include special characters.
- After sending a message in the Reviewer Inbox, the reviewer isn't redirected to the Reviewer Dashboard.
- The sorting icon isn't visible on the Reviewer Dashboard when RP\_UseEnhancedStyling is turned on in custom settings.

**Base** **Package**

- The currency code isn't formatted correctly on the Unscheduled Payments section of the Setup Payments wizard.

### Changes

- We updated `FC_ForgotPassword_Reset_CustomText` that shows when a user attempts to reset their password in the Grantee and Reviewer Portals.

### Issues Closed

**Grantee Portal**

- An error occurs when a grantseeker starts an application and InquiryEditableStatus or RequestEditableStatus are left blank in the Portal Configuration custom setting.
- Validation errors in the Grantee Portal are duplicated when a validation error displays next to a field.
- Budget categories are displayed out of order on the Budget tab.
- The SiteURLRewriteHandlerGP class in the site field URL Rewriter Class results in a redirecting loop when resetting a user password in the Grantee and Reviewer Portals.

**Grantee Report**

- Using a field from a related object as the Sort field on the Benchmarks Update tab in a Grantee Report gives an invalid field error.

**Reviewer Portal**

- The grantseeker's Contact information appears on the Review and Submit page in the Reviewer Portal.
- Required fields on the object show as error messages on the External Review.
- A Request (Opportunity) ownership change deletes Apex sharing which prevents reviewers from viewing their external reviews.
- A reviewer sees an error message if they aren't assigned Read access to all External Review fields.

## foundationConnect Release Notes - January 27, 2021

Base 5.30, Grantee 11.44, Reviewer 4.27

### Changes

- The Lookup 501c3 displays an error message on a Request (Opportunity) when an EIN isn't provided.
- OFAC Check now displays an error message if a search experiences a timeout.
- When moving a grantseeker's Request (Opportunity) to a status included in RequestEditableStatus, such as Reopened, a grantmaker now needs to manually remove or create automation so that the grantseeker's username in the SubmittedBy field is blank. This makes the Request editable to the grantseeker.

### Issues Closed

**Base**

- The Delete button on the Payment Wizard is shown to users who don't have Delete permission on the Payment object.
- An error message occurs when using 501c3 Lookup for organizations with titles that include special characters.

**Grantee Portal**

- A grantseeker has the option to delete an Inquiry (Lead) and Request (Opportunity) if it's shared with them, even though the user doesn't have Delete permission.
- The Grantee Portal Dashboard timeouts when an org includes a custom picklist field on a Request (Opportunity) not called `Status` and includes that field in the custom setting Portal Configuration Detail's RequestStatusField.
- Duplicate Organization (Account) and Contact records are created during Grantee Portal registration when the Profile Type is set to Individual.
- Grantseekers can no longer delete attachment records associated with a Request (Opportunity) if it has been submitted and then reopened.
- Direct links to records direct grantees to a new record when they log in.
- An error message isn't removed if a grantseeker completes a previously missing required field or navigates to another Related List tab.
- The first field in a field set is positioned in the second column when a grantee attempts to create a new record.
- Grantseekers are able to edit and save changes on a submitted Request (Opportunity) if the URL is altered from "view" to "edit."
- Validation rules on custom objects used as custom profile tabs within an application.aren't shown when the grantseeker attempts to edit or save the record.
- The Explore Grant Opportunities tab shows an unsubmitted applications error message for grantees starting a new application.
- Required custom validation fields on objects result in repeat validation errors across tabs in the Reviewer and Grantee Portals.

![Note](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-foundation_connect-264-0-0-production-enus/4412bd03-b109-4e35-8baf-6d18e783b100/images/icon_note.png)

Note Organization (Account) and Contact validate rule errors may appear when a grantseeker saves a new Request (Opportunity) and both Profile tabs are included on the application. If this happens, a grantseeker can submit their information on the Profile tab on the Grantee Portal.

**Grantee Report**

- Data rows aren't aligned with the column headers in the Grantee Report related list.
- When a grantee is filling out a Grantee Report, they doesn't see an error message nor does the record save when validation rules are present on Grantee Report child record.
- Grantees are redirected to view mode instead of edit mode when provided a specific URL with a direct link to a Grantee Report.
- Related List tabs in the Grantee Report page layout are not showing error messages for required fields when a new child record is saved.
- An HTML error occurs in the Grantee Portal when a user attempts to submit an application or Grantee Report and a required field is left blank.

**Reviewer Portal**

- The labels on Quiz Questions for Attachments in the Reviewer Portal are right-aligned instead of left-aligned.

### Critical Changes

**Recommendation Portal**

- We've introduced the new Recommendation Review object that will supplement the Recommender object due to changes in edit object permissions for guest site users. Admins will need to take the following actions:

    - Add all custom fields from Recommendation object to Recommendation Review object.
    - Remove the current Recommendation tab, which uses the FGM\_Portal\_\_Recommendation\_\_c object, from all Quizzes.
    - Create a new Recommendation tab that users the FGM\_Portal\_\_Recommendation\_Review\_\_c object to replace the removed Recommendation tab.
    - Update guest user permissions on the Recommendation object. Previously, the Recommendation object needed Read and Edit access. After this update, the Recommendation object needs Read and Create access.
    - Grant guest users Read and Create permissions on the Recommendation Review object.
    - Review the sharing rules outlined in the [Grantee Community Configuration Guide](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleview?id=sfdo.fc_user_guide.htm) (page 72).
- With this update, the recommendation process has changed for Recommenders, including:

    - Recommendations must be completed in one session.
    - Recommenders can't save an in progress recommendation.
    - Recommenders can't upload attachments.

**Opportunity Team Member**

- We made updates to the Opportunity Team Member process, which now requires the grantseeker to provide a username for the invited collaborator during the invitation process. For this functionality to work, an admin needs to:

    - Update the Portal User's Invite Opportunity Team Member Fields fieldset to include the username field.
    - Create a new welcome email template that is sent to the invited collaborator with the collaborator's username. Instructions on how to set this up are found on page 64 in the [Grantee Community Configuration Guide](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleview?id=sfdo.fc_user_guide.htm).
    - Create automation, such as a workflow, that sends the welcome email to a collaborator when approved by a grantmaker. An example workflow is found on page 65 in the [Grantee Community Configuration Guide](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleview?id=sfdo.fc_user_guide.htm).
- The grantseeker experience has also changed, including:

    - A grantseeker must provide a username for the invited collaborator.
    - Only individuals in a shared organization can be invited to collaborate.
- Additionally, any in progress Opportunity Team Member invitations in previous versions need to be resent using this latest release.

**Reviewer Portal**

- The Grantee Report object requires Read access for the Reviewer Portal to load.

### Issues Closed

- An error occurs in the Reviewer Portal when an internal user tries to save a Quiz that has more than 50 Questions.
- The Reviewer Dashboard timeouts when logging into the Reviewer Portal.
- Records from Related List tabs are in an incorrect order on the Reviewer Portal.

### Known Issues

We found an issue with FGM\_Portal\_\_InstanceRefreshJob that caused Portal User records to be updated incorrectly. If you currently have this instance refresh job running, you will need to delete and reschedule the it because the user that the installation uses to schedule the job no longer has the access levels to run the job.

To fix this issue, you will need to delete the existing job and reschedule a new instance refresh job.

2. Enter Scheduled Job in the Quick Find box, then click **Scheduled Jobs**.
3. Click **Del** next to FGM\_Portal\_\_InstanceRefreshJob.

Now, you can reschedule the instance refresh job. Make sure you are logged in as an system administrator to do this.

## foundationConnect Release Notes - May 13, 2020

Grantee 11.36, Reviewer 4.20

### Changes

- A user can now view both a submitted or in progress application after the Campaign End Date has passed. Previously, a pop up would inform the user the campaign had expired and wouldn't let them proceed. A user can now dismiss the pop up then view the application.
- We fixed an issue that prevented Related List Tab records from saving or updating if read-only fields were present and contained values.
- We fixed an issue that required a user both Read and Edit access to any lookup fields on the Opportunity Team Member layout.
- We fixed an issue that didn't allow a Request (Opportunity) or Inquiry (Lead) to save if there were read-only fields present on the Related List Tab.
- We fixed an issue that was not calculating the Expenditure to Date field correctly when an internal administrator deleted a Grantee Budget Update record from the Grantee Report.
- We fixed an issue that prevented new user registration when the OnAccountUpdate trigger was enabled.
- For customers with multiple communities, the foundationConnect Grantee Portal now supports a private external organization-wide default for the Organization (Account) object. Grantee Portal Community Users need to be granted Edit access to their Organization record in order to make updates to their information. To grant access to the Organization object while maintaining a private external sharing model, we recommend creating a [sharing set](https://help.salesforce.com/apex/htviewsolution?urlname=foundationconnect-private-external-owd-for-the-organization-account&language=en_us).
- We made security updates to several pages in foundationConnect.
- We have made updates to our baseline permissions [recommendations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.fc_configure_gp_community_user_permissions.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Make sure your grantseekers, grantees, and System Administrators have the access they need to standard and custom objects and fields."). These updates include:

        - Added (deprecated) (`FGM_Portal__Grantee_Budget_Line_Item__c`) on Grantee Budget Update object
        - Added Organization Name (`AccountId`) and Primary Campaign Source (CampaignId) on Request (Opportunity) object
        - Added Respondent (`FGM_Portal__ResponseBy__c`) on Task object
    - **Guest Grantee Portal User**

        - Added Task object
        - Added Organization Name (`AccountId`) on Contact object

        - Add Opportunity (`Request`) on Question Attachment
    - **Guest Reviewer Portal User**

        - Added Task object
        - Added Account Name (`AccountId`) on Contact object

## foundationConnect Release Notes - March 18, 2020

Base 5.28, Grantee 11.35, Reviewer 4.19

### Critical Changes

- The team dove into foundationConnect to gain a deeper understanding of what basic permissions are required for each type of user. As a result or our research, we made updates to the code to be less permissive. We understand that updating and managing permissions has been a massive undertaking for our customers, so we are excited to show the work we've done to make configuring foundationConnect easier. This release includes:

    - Both authenticated community and guest users no longer require access to all Portal User fields. Permission configuration on the Portal User object is still required for both types of users.
    - Guest users no longer require read and edit access to all fields on the Recommendation object to view a recommendation page.
    - We have updated permission recommendations for authenticated community and guest users on the Grantee Portal and Reviewer Portal. As a reminder, these recommendations are just the basics to get an org set up in foundationConnect; any objects and fields added will need additional permissions. You can find the recommendations in **Set Up Security**.
- We have published an updated version of the **Grantee Portal Configuration Guide** in Knowledge. This will continue to evolve over time with new information and features, so we recommend accessing it directly from Knowledge instead of downloading it directly.

### Changes

- We fixed an issue that was causing an error if a user tried to update their Organization, Contact, or Custom Profile tab during a Request or an Inquiry when read-only fields were present on the layout.
- We fixed an issue that was causing an error on the Visualforce Profile tab if a user tried to access their Organization, Contact, or Custom profile tab when read-only fields were present on the layout.
- The Grantee Portal user no longer requires Read access on every field of an object to edit and save a record. Previously, a Grantee Portal user required Read access on all fields of an object, even if the object was not included in a Community Manager page layout.
- We fixed an issue that displayed attachments uploaded to or modified on the Request (Opportunity), Inquiry (Lead), Amendment, Grantee Report, Recommendation, and Benchmark objects in Greenwich Mean Time. Now, a user will see only the date once the attachment is uploaded.
- We fixed an issue that didn't allow a grantseeker to edit or update the Profile tab when a Request was in a post-submission status, such as Re-opened.
- We fixed an issue causing the Reviewer Feedback tab in the Reviewer Portal to not load if there were formula fields present. Now, a user will see the content in the Reviewer Feedback tab and formula field values display as read only.
- We fixed an issue preventing the Reviewer Portal dashboard from correctly loading updated styling from the RP\_UseEnhancedStyling custom setting. The RP\_UseEnhancedStyling custom setting, which provides a streamlined user interface on the Reviewer Portal dashboard, was introduced in a previous release (4.17). Now, orgs can take full advantage of this feature!

### Issues Closed

- "Instructional Text" placeholder text displays on the Contact tab if there is no instructional text entered.
- A technically-worded error message displays instead of a more user-friendly error message when a user encounters a validation rule error on a Related List record.

### Known Issues

- Attachments uploaded to or modified on the Request (Opportunity), Inquiry (Lead), Amendment, Grantee Report, Recommendation, and Benchmark objects display the created date and last modified date in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) on the QuesionAttachments Visualforce page in the CRM, regardless of the user or company time zone settings.

## foundationConnect Release Notes - January 15, 2020

Base 5.28, Grantee 11.34, Reviewer 4.18

### Changes

- We removed the **Click to Continue** modal on the CommunityApplication and PageLayout pages. These were added in a previous release as a security measure to prevent cross-site request forgery. After refactoring code and a thorough review, these two pages are no longer at risk.
- We updated the date and datetime columns on the Grantee Dashboard to sort and display by calendar dates. Previously, these columns sorted by string, which ordered dates alphabetically and considered "1" in "10" to come before "8" or "9."
- We fixed an issue that allowed grantseekers to submit an application without completing all required fields, specifically the Salesforce Data Type and Attachment fields. Now, a grantseeker will receive a notification there are still required fields left to complete before being able to submit their application.
- We fixed an issue that allowed grantees to submit an Amendment, Benchmark, or Grantee Report without completing all required fields. Now, if a grantee tries to submit without all required fields completed, they receive a notification there are additional fields to complete.
- We added a Re-Opened status to the Grantee Report.
- We removed the remaining HTML markup from custom labels in the Reviewer Portal.
- We fixed an issue causing the previously deprecated `FGM_Portal__Instructional_Text__c` field to display on the Reviewer Portal instead of the updated `FGM_Portal__Rich_Instructional_Text__c` field.

## foundationConnect Release Notes - November 18, 2019

Base 5.27, Grantee 11.33, Reviewer 4.17

### Critical Changes

We're excited to introduce an updated user interface for the Grantee Portal and Reviewer Portal that looks and feels like Salesforce Lightning, but without the heavy-lifting of migrating your org from Visualforce. This new interface is controlled by a custom setting that allows you to enable or disable the updates.

You'll notice nearly every step of the grantmaking experience, from sending emails to grantee reporting, in foundationConnect is updated in the Grantee Portal, including:

Grantee Portal Dashboard

- Inbox
- Applications
- Letters of Inquiry
- Grantee Reports
- Benchmarks
- Amendments

Internal Grantmaker

- Lookup 501(c)
- Verify 501(c)
- OFACCheck
- Payment Scheduler
- Setup Reports
- Setup Benchmarks
- Question Attachments for:

    - Amendment
    - Grantee Report
    - Opportunity
    - Lead
    - Recommendation
    - Commitment Calculator

We also have made a few updates to the Reviewer Portal, including:

- Reviewer Inbox
- Assigned Reviews

**Enable the Updated Portal UIs**

We added a toggle using custom settings to allow you to enable or disable the updated user interface for the Grantee Portal and Reviewer Portal. When the custom setting is enabled, the user will see the new user interface and any custom CSS will no longer display. When it is disabled, the legacy user interface or custom CSS displays to users.

To enable the new interface on the portals:

1. From Setup, enter then select **Custom Settings**.
2. Click **Manage** next to Community Settings.
3. Click **New**.

    1. To create the UI in the Grantee Portal toggle, enter UseEnhancedStyling in the Name field.
    2. To create the UI in the Reviewer Portal toggle, enter RP\_UseEnhancedStyling in the Name field.
4. Make sure IsEnable is selected then click **Save**.

### Changes

- We fixed an issue that generated two Grantee Budget Update Categories when creating a grantee report from an org's CRM.
- We added a confirmation modal that appears when an admin selects a different language for a quiz that has not been translated yet. This modal asks the admin to confirm they want to continue to create a translated quiz to prevent a quiz being inadvertently created.
- We fixed an issue that allowed a user to submit an application if they had a direct URL to an application, even if the Campaign End Date had passed. Now, users accessing an application URL after the Campaign End Date has passed receive an error message.

### Known Issues

- When you attempt to send message in the Reviewer Portal, it appears that nothing has happened when you click **Send**. The message does send, but the user will remain on the compose message screen.

### Installation

\*You will need the latest version of foundationConnect's Base and Grantee package for the Reviewer package to install successfully.

## foundationConnect Release Notes - October 16, 2019

Reviewer 4.14

### Critical Changes

In our [previous release](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.fc_release_notes.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Learn what's new in foundationConnect."), we replaced several existing fields on the Grantee Portal with new rich text fields so you can format text without HTML. Now, those new rich text fields display on the Reviewer Portal as well.

| Object | Existing Field Name | New Field Name | Page Layout |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| CustomHTML | FGM\_Portal\_\_Description\_\_c | FGM\_Portal\_\_RichDescription\_\_c | CustomHTML |
| Question | FGM\_Portal\_\_Pre\_Text\_\_c | FGM\_Portal\_\_RichPreText\_\_c | Question |
| Question | FGM\_Portal\_\_Post\_Text\_\_c | FGM\_Portal\_\_RichPostText\_\_c | Question |
| Question | FGM\_Portal\_\_Question\_\_c | FGM\_Portal\_\_RichQuestion\_\_c | Question |

You can also now insert instructional text on the Reviewer Portal via the RichDescription\_\_c field on the CustomHTML object. Previously, formatted instructional text on the Reviewer Portal was rendered using a custom label (RP\_DashboardInstructionalText).

To use this new functionality, these values must be set as follows in the CustomHTML object:

- Name: RP\_DashboardInstructionalText
- associated\_FC\_Portal\_Type: Reviewer
- Language\_\_c: language code of the current user (for example, en\_US for English)
- Community Setting: RP\_DashboardInstructionalTextEnabled and is marked enabled

You will want to review your Reviewer Portal user permissions to ensure compatibility with security updates made during this release. [Log a case](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleview?id=sfdo.fc_faq.htm) with Salesforce support for Reviewer Portal permission recommendations prior to 4.19. If you are on Reviewer Portal 4.19 or higher, refer to [Configure Community User Permissions on the Reviewer Portal](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleview?id=sfdo.fc_configure_rp_community_user_permissions.htm) or [Configure Guest User Permissions on the Reviewer Portal](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleview?id=sfdo.fc_configure_rp_guest_user_permissions.htm) for a starting point and guidance on our recommendations.

### Installation

Existing foundationConnect users can upgrade to the latest release using the [foundationConnect Reviewer Installer](https://install.salesforce.org/products/foundationconnect-reviewer/). You will need the [latest version](https://install.salesforce.org/products/foundationconnect) of foundationConnect's Base and Grantee packages for the Reviewer Installer to install successfully. Visit the [If you already have foundationConnect and want to upgrade](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.fc_install_upgrade.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Review the foundationConnect installation prerequisites and considerations depending on which products you already have.") section for instructions on using the installer.

## foundationConnect Release Notes - September 18, 2019

Portal 11.29

### Critical Changes

We are introducing a solution that allows orgs to install the latest foundationConnect Grantee Portal (11.29) release in their Sandbox org running the Salesforce Core Winter ’20 release preview. This solution removes the Financial Report record type from the Community Grantee Permission set User/Login License permission set during installation, which will likely need to be added back in manually by admins.

There are a few different ways to add the Financial Report record type back into your Sandbox org. But first, let’s see if there are users assigned to the Community Grantee Permission set User/Login License.

1. From Setup, search for then select **Permission Sets**.
2. Select **Community Grantee Permission set User/Login License**.
3. Click **Manage Assignments.**
4. Create a new permission set with only the Financial Report record type added OR
5. Update the users’ profile to give access to the Financial Report record type

If no users are assigned in your Sandbox org, you can stop here. There is nothing additional you need to do before installing.

If there are users assigned to the Community Grantee Permission set User/Login License, you need to add the Financial Report record type back. There are two different ways depending on your setup:

- Create a new permission set with only the Financial Report record type added OR
- Update the users’ profile to give access to the Financial Report record type

Create a New Permission Set

This provides one place to manage the updated permission, but if you have many users to assign the permission set to, it could be a time-consuming process. Follow the steps below to create and add the new permission set to your user(s).

This new permission set now needs to be assigned to the user(s) in the Community Grantee Permission set User/Login License.

1. From Setup, search for then select **Permission Sets**.
2. Click **New**.
3. Enter a Label then click **Save**.
4. Click **Object Settings**. All the objects listed here should have no access.
5. Click **Grantee Reports** then **Edit**.
6. Under Record Type Assignments, select **Financial Report** then click **Save**.

You should now be able to install the latest foundationConnect package (11.29) successfully into your Sandbox org.

1. From Setup, search for then select **Users**.
2. Click the name of the user.
3. Scroll down to the Permission Set Assignment section and click **Edit** Assignments.
4. Select the newly-created permission set from the Available Permission Sets list then click the **Add** arrow to move it to Enabled Permission Sets.
5. Click **Save**.

Update the Profile

If you have one profile for all users, you can quickly update the profile to grant access to the Financial Report record type. This is the simplest and fastest way, but it will apply the newly-added permission to all users with that profile.

You should now be able to install the latest foundationConnect package (11.29) successfully into your Sandbox org.

1. From Setup, search for then select **Permission Sets**.
2. Select **FC Partner Community User**.
3. Click **Object Settings**.
4. Click **Grantee Reports** then **Edit**.
5. Under Record Types and Page Layout Assignments, select **Financial Report** as the Assigned Record Type. A modal opens asking you to confirm if you are switching from Master to Financial Report as the record type. Click **OK**.
6. Click Save to add the Financial Report record type permission to the profile.

### Changes

- We fixed an issue that didn't require a user to complete all required fields when inviting an Opportunity Team Member to register on the Grantee Portal.

### Potential Known Issues

We discovered a known issue in Sandbox orgs running Salesforce Core Winter '20 that changes several organization-wide sharing default settings after installing the latest foundationConnect package (11.29). In these instances, the objects below have had external access changed from Public Read/Write to Private. We recommend checking your settings and changing back to Public Read/Write if needed.

## foundationConnect Release Notes - September 11, 2019

Base 5.25, Portal 11.28

### Critical Changes

Custom Stylesheets (CSS) for Login and Registration Pages

As part of our June 2019 release, we no longer support the use of HTML style tags within the CustomHTML object. We know this is an important feature that many orgs use to customize the appearance and functionality of login (CommunitySignin) and registration (CommunitySignup) pages. As an alternative, you can now use a custom stylesheet (CSS) to replace the use of HTML on these pages.

To add a custom stylesheet to your org:

Your stylesheet is now included in the CommunitySignin and CommunitySignup pages.

1. Add the custom stylesheet to a zip archive on your computer then upload as a [static resource](https://help.salesforce.com/articleview?id=pages_static_resources.htm&type=5). Follow the [Use Centralized CSS to Customize Portal Pages](https://sfdo-docs.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/fc+legacy+grantee+config+guide.pdf) section of the Legacy Grantee Community Configuration Guide for help setting up a static resource.
2. From **Setup**, enter Custom Settings in the **Quick Find** box, then select **Custom Settings**.
3. Find the **Community Static Resource** label and click **Manage**.
4. Click **New**.
5. Complete the fields:

    - Name: LoginAndRegistrationStylesheet
    - File Relative Path: The path to the stylesheet in your static resource.
    - Static Resource Name: The name of your static resource.
6. Click **Save**.

Hide Features on Login and Registration Pages Using Custom Stylesheets (CSS)

Within your new CSS files, you can also now hide these features on the login (CommunitySignin) and registration (CommunitySignup) pages:

Is your org new to CSS? Check out [Creating and Using CSS Stylesheets](https://help.salesforce.com/articleview?id=siteforce_style_css_create_sheet.htm&type=5) to get started!

- Language toggle (CommunitySignin): To hide the Language toggle on the CommunitySignin page, add `.ddl-portal-language { display: none !important; }` to your CSS file.
- Organization/Individual radio button toggle (CommunitySignup): To hide the Organization/Individual radio button toggle on the CommunitySignup page, add `.userType { display: none !important; }` to your CSS file.

Convert Existing Fields to Rich Text Fields for Custom Formatting

We replaced several existing fields with new rich text fields so you can format text without HTML, as HTML is no longer supported due to a potential security risk. This update also includes a post-installation script to copy the current values from the existing fields into the new fields.

The table below shows the object, existing field name, new rich text field name, and page layout where you should add the new fields.

**Action required**: While the post-installation script copies over the values, there are still a few steps to get the new fields up and running. For more information about rich text field formatting, check out [Rich Text Editor](https://help.salesforce.com/articleview?id=fields_using_html_editor.htm&type=5) and [Editing Rich Text Area Fields in Records](https://help.salesforce.com/articleview?id=fields_using_rich_text_area.htm&type=5) in Salesforce Help & Training.

| Object | Existing Field Name | New Field Name | Page Layout |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Campaign Quiz | FGM\_Portal\_\_Instructional\_Text\_\_c | FGM\_Portal\_\_Rich\_Instructional\_Text\_\_c | Campaign Quiz |
| CustomHTML | FGM\_Portal\_\_Description\_\_c | FGM\_Portal\_\_RichDescription\_\_c | CustomHTML |
| Question | FGM\_Portal\_\_Pre\_Text\_\_c | FGM\_Portal\_\_RichPreText\_\_c | Question |
| Question | FGM\_Portal\_\_Post\_Text\_\_c | FGM\_Portal\_\_RichPostText\_\_c | Question |
| Question | FGM\_Portal\_\_Question\_\_c | FGM\_Portal\_\_RichQuestion\_\_c | Question |
| Related List Controller | FGM\_Portal\_\_InstructionalText\_\_c | FGM\_Portal\_\_RichInstructionalText\_\_c | Related List Controller |

1. Add Read access to the new field(s) you are using.
2. Review the values in the new field(s) to ensure your data copied over with correct formatting. Rich text doesn’t support all HTML, so you may need to make adjustments.
3. Update the page layout listed in the table above to replace the existing field(s) with the new rich text field(s).

### Changes

- The GuideStar button no longer appears for portal users if there isn’t a named credential set up for GuideStar. Previously, when a portal user clicked the button, they were incorrectly directed to the fC login page.
- You can now insert instructional text on the Community Dashboard via the RichDescription\_\_c field on the CustomHTML object. Previously, formatted instructional text on the Community Dashboard was rendered using a custom label (GP\_DashboardInstructionalText).

To use this new functionality, these values must be set as follows in the CustomHTML object:
    - Name: GP\_DashboardInstructionalText
    - Associated\_FC\_Portal\_Type: Grantee
    - Language\_\_c: language code of the current user (for example, en\_US for English)
    - Community Setting: GP\_DashboardInstructionalTextEnabled and is marked enabled. If the CustomHTML object record does not exist, the text in the GP\_DashboardInstructionalText custom label will display without formatting.
- We replaced the **Click to Continue** button on several pages with a more descriptive pop-up modal. We know it’s still an extra click, but it’s an important step to prevent cross-site request forgery. We even have a [Trailhead](https://trailhead.salesforce.com/en/content/learn/modules/secdev_application_logic_vulnerabilities/secdev_app_logic_csrf) dedicated to this common web vulnerability if you’d like to learn more!
- We fixed an issue where new users couldn’t register for an account if there were no CustomHTML records on the CommunitySignup page.
- We fixed an issue on the Campaign object where the Instructions field (FGM\_Portal\_\_Description\_\_c) was displaying HTML tags even though it is a rich text field.
- We fixed an issue that allowed new users to register for an account on the portal without completing all required fields.
- We fixed an issue where users could upload amendments to the portal, even if the custom setting IsAmendRequestEnabled was disabled.
- We fixed an issue where default values on custom objects or custom profiles were not showing on the portal.
- We fixed a portal user data mapping issue that occurred during the user sign up process.
- We fixed an issue that wouldn’t load the dashboard for the grantee portal user when a field from a related object was added to a dashboard field set.
- We fixed a styling issue causing the table on the Benchmarks tab to disappear when a user navigated away from the “New Record” page.
- We fixed an issue that caused the Data Mapping Wizard to not load.
- We fixed an issue causing the User Portal Field Mapping and Community Field Mapping pages to not display all fields.
- We updated the Associated Tab Type and Associated Portal Type fields to be optional. Previously, both fields were required.
- We made efficiencies to our code to prevent CPU time out.

### Issues Closed

- The date columns in the dashboard display as text fields instead of date fields.
- Child programs on the Setup Payments Wizard display HTML tags instead of indentations.
- The Amount field on the Grantee Portal dashboard does not show a comma separator for values greater than $999.99.
- The Campaign End Date is closing the application period early by one day. For example, if the application end date is 09/15/2019, the application closes on 9/14/2019 at 11:59 p.m.
- The Campaign End Date is closing the application period early for grantseekers who live in a time zone behind the grantmaker. For example, if the grantmaker is in GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) and sets the Campaign End Date to 09/15/2019, a grantseeker in PDT (Pacific Daylight Time) would be unable to submit an application after 5 PM PDT on 09/14/2019.
- Text on the application review page is center- and right-aligned as opposed to left-aligned.
- A grant with an apostrophe (‘) in the title does not return in the Explore Grant Opportunities search results

### Known Issues

- A user will get a Visualforce error if they click “View,” “Edit,” or “New” on any Custom Profile tab.

### Installation

Existing foundationConnect users can upgrade to the latest release using the [foundationConnect Installer](https://install.salesforce.org/products/foundationconnect).

## foundationConnect Release Notes - June 26, 2019

Base 5.24

### Critical Changes

We no longer support HTML markup for the GR\_Header\_For\_Other\_Request custom label. If you have translated this label or any other custom labels using HTML markup, the markup will no longer render to users and will display as code. We recommend reviewing your custom label translations to ensure all HTML is removed.

### Installation

We strongly recommend installing this release in a Sandbox org and testing thoroughly before installing into Production.

1. From Setup, enter Name Credentials in the Quick Find box, then click Named Credentials.
2. Click **New Named Credential** and complete these fields:

    1. Label: Guide\_Star\_Credential
    2. Name: Guide\_Star\_Credential
    3. URL: https://apidata.guidestar.org/essentials/v1
    4. Identity Type: Named Principal

Additionally, the GuideStar Essentials API is required for any org (including .NET\*) using GuideStar. Orgs upgrading to this newest release need to change the “GuideStar Field Mapping For Salesforce” and “Configure GuideStar Field Mapping” objects according to fields provided by GuideStar Essentials API. To download a trial version of the GuideStar Essentials API to test, visit [GuideStar APIs](https://learn.guidestar.org/products/business-solutions/guidestar-apis) and sign up for a free trial.

\*.NET users will be notified when the change requires the GuideStar Essentials API subscription to be active. We recommend securing API keys in the meantime.

### Additional Critical Changes

- Your org’s data security is important to us. To provide additional security, we no longer support custom HTML and recommend removing all HTML tags from these objects and fields:

    - Applications and page layouts
    - Custom long text fields (typically found on the below objects)

        - Question
        - Quiz
        - Campaign
    - Custom labels
    - CustomHTML records

- To ensure your data is as secure as possible, review and update the following permissions in your org. This is critical to your org's compatibility with security updates made during this release.

    - Objects and fields: [log a case](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleview?id=sfdo.fc_faq.htm) with Salesforce Support to access the **Configure Grantee Portal Authenticated User Permissions** and **Configure Grantee Portal Guest User Permissions** spreadsheets. _These permissions are only applicable to Grantee Portal 11.27 - 11.34._
    - Tabs: review Related List and Custom Profile tabs access permissions and set to "Read" or "Read/Write" access, if applicable.

### Changes

- A new user invited by a Grantee Portal member is now directed to log in with a username and password. Previously, a new user would see a “Request Received” message and be unable to log in.
- When a Grant Recommender accesses a new record, the status changes to “In Progress.” Previously, the status remained “New.”
- Notes and attachments uploaded by an internal grant team member to the Grantee Portal are now visible to grant seekers. Notes and attachments also now transfer when a Lead converts to an Opportunity.
- Campaign names now wrap on the Community Campaign page. Previously, long Campaign names were cut off.
- We updated the FC\_ForgotPassword\_CustomText custom label to detail password resets.
- Opportunity records are now editable by grantees if the following are true:

    - Application Status is editable
    - Application is in Edit mode
    - Campaign is not expired
    - Application is not “Submitted"
- Internal grant team members can now delete more than 50 Opportunity Team Members by clicking Remove All Members. Before, the bulk deletion process rendered an error message and would not complete.
- The following related object fields can now be used in any fieldset displayed on the dashboard:

    - Benchmark Dashboard Fields
    - Amendment Dashboard Fields
    - Grantee Report Dashboard Fields
    - Request Dashboard Fields
    - Inquiry Dashboard Fields
- The following fields no longer trigger an error message when marked as “Required” in the Reviewer Portal layouts.

    - Number
    - Checkbox
    - Currency
    - Date/Time
    - Date
    - Percent
    - Time

### Issues Closed

- IFrame tab type displays Opportunity details instead of coded URL.
- Grantee Portal users accessing an Opportunity created prior to a Spring 2017 release installation see a Visualforce error.
- The Grantee Report due date displays incorrectly.
- Users can upload a file in the Portal even if it produces an error.
- A duplicate organization is created when a new user is going through the registration process and refreshes their browser.
- Users can delete grantee reports even if custom settings and profile settings are set to disallow deletion.
- The “Unscheduled” field for payments calculation shows an incorrect amount to be scheduled.
- When a user clicks the “Return to Record” button on an Opportunity review, they see a Visualforce error.
- The Related List with Tab tab type on the Grantee portal don’t respect the sort field and sort field order settings.
