## Learn About the Office of the President Tableau Accelerator

You can use the Office of the President Tableau Accelerator with Salesforce to help create a diverse and inclusive campus that fosters innovation and collaboration.

Lack of diversity can discourage underrepresented students from enrolling, or make them feel alone on campus. With these dashboards, you can use filters to see historical trends in enrollment and degrees earned across diversity groups. Stakeholders can use this information to understand how your institution's student population is changing, set goals to increase diversity, and evaluate the impact of diversity initiatives.

See [Salesforce Education Cloud Office of the President](https://extensiongallery.tableau.com/products/608?version=2021.2).

## Understand the Data Model Requirements

In general, the dashboards use a generic data model that can easily fit the needs of most institutions.

The dashboards show data from these objects:

- Account
- Contact
- Course Connection
- Course Offering
- Education History
- Program Enrollment
- Term

![Tip](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-education_data_architecture-264-0-0-production-enus/6bcf23e4-1d0f-4cd5-8405-b8e231f03ed0/images/icon_tip.png)

Tip To view a visual representation of the data model in Tableau, click the **Data Source** tab.

Here's how to model the data and structure it in EDA.

### Term Enrollment

The dashboards use the Course Connection object to calculate historical enrollment for students (Contacts). Course Connections are associated with the Course Offering object, which has a lookup relationship to the Term object. In addition, Terms must have an associated Parent Term that relates to a school year.

| Purpose | Object | Field | Related Object | Relationship Field on Related Object |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Establish a relationship between students and courses. | Contact | Contact ID | Course Connection | Contact |
| Establish a relationship between courses and Course Offerings, which are mapped to Terms. | Course Connection | Course Offering ID | Course Offering | Id |
| Provide access to the name and dates for Terms. | Course Offering | Term | Term | Id |
| Establish a relationship between Terms and Parent Terms (for example, between Fall 2020 Term and 2020–2021 Parent Term). | Term | Parent Term | Id | Term |

### Academic Program

The dashboards use the Program Enrollment object to identify students who are pursuing degrees.

| Purpose | Object | Field | Related Object | Relationship Field on Related Object |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Identify students who have Program Enrollment records. | Contact | Contact ID | Program Enrollment | Contact |
| Pull the Program name related to the Program Enrollment record. | Program Enrollment | Program | Account | Id |

### Graduation

The dashboards use the Education History object to identify the graduation date for students who have earned degrees.

| Purpose | Object | Field | Related Object | Relationship Field on Related Object |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Establish a relationship between students and their Education History record. | Contact | Contact ID | Education History | Contact |

### Institution

The dashboards make three queries to the Account object. The data model requires that you structure your Academic Programs in this way:

- Program (record type is Academic Program)
- Department (record type is University Department)
- Institution (record type is Educational Institution)

For example, the Biological Sciences department at Connected University offers a Bachelors of Science (B.S.) in Biology. Here's how Account records represent these entities.

- Connected University is an Account with the Educational Institution record type.
- The Biological Sciences department is an Account with the University Department record type.
- The B.S. in Biology is an Account with the Academic Program record type. The Biological Sciences department administers this degree, so the Academic Program's parent Account is the department's Account record.

![Queries on the Account object](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-education_data_architecture-264-0-0-production-enus/6bcf23e4-1d0f-4cd5-8405-b8e231f03ed0/education_data_architecture/images/account.png)

For more details, see [Model Your Institutional Account Structure](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.eda_model_institutional_account_structure.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "A four-year university, an elementary school, and a school district all have vastly different org charts and governance models. But no matter your educational context, the Account object is foundational for modeling your institutional structure.").
