It also allows you to compare acceptance rates, yield rates, enrollment, and completions between IPEDS and your institution’s Salesforce data. See [Salesforce Education Cloud IPEDS Accelerator](https://exchange.tableau.com/products/622). ## Understand the Data Model Requirements Learn about the IPEDS data sources and structure so that you can put IPEDS to work effectively at your institution. The following IPEDS data sources have been built with Tableau Prep Builder and are embedded in the Accelerator: - Admissions (ADM) for 2018, 2019, and 2020 - 12-Month Enrollment (EFFY) for 2018, 2019, and 2020 - Completions (C) for 2018, 2019, and 2020 - Institutional Characteristics (HD) To add more years, beyond 2018, 2019, and 2020, to the data sources, you have two options: - Wait for the new IPEDS Tableau Accelerator to be published on the Tableau Exchange. - Manually update the data sources: 1. Download the flow from Tableau Exchange. 2. Download the files from IPEDS. 3. Open the flow in Tableau Prep Builder. 4. Rebuild the data sources with the new IPEDS files. In general, the dashboards use a generic data model that can easily fit the needs of most institutions. Here’s how the data needs to be modeled and structured in your org. ### Application and User To filter data in the dashboard by staff member or manager, you have User records structured using this parent-child relationship. - User - User Application records specify an Owner (OwnerId) field that points to an employee at your institution. If you’re not using Accounts to identify school districts, you can still filter for high schools. Also, keep in mind that there's no qualifying logic to determine if the Account is for a high school. Therefore, college-related data can show up in the High School filter. Let’s look at how this model works for a student named Marla Gianni. If you're new to Tableau, purchase at least one Creator license to get started. You can also [start a free 14-day trial](https://www.tableau.com/products/desktop/download). Connect using either Tableau Online or Tableau Desktop. ### Use Tableau Online 1. Go to [Tableau Online](https://www.tableau.com/tableau-login-hub) and log in. 2. On the home page, click **Accelerator Dashboards**. If you don’t land on the home page, click **Home**, and then click **See All**. 3. On the Starters page, set your Data Sources filter to **Salesforce**. 4. Click **IPEDS Tableau Accelerator**. 5. Click **Sign in to Salesforce** and log in. ### Use Tableau Desktop 1. Download the IPEDS Tableau Accelerator from [Tableau Exchange](https://exchange.tableau.com/products/622). 2. Open Tableau Desktop. 3. From the Tableau Desktop home page, click **Open a Workbook**. 4. In the Data menu, select each data source that you want to use, and then select **Edit Data Source**. 5.
