# Use the Nonprofit Experience Manager App

Now that you've installed the app and set up user access, let's add communication and subscription management.

- **[Create Communications for Your Experience Cloud Site](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ecngo_use_the_nonprofit_experience_manager_app.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Data Use Purposes represent the communications and subscriptions for your site. For example, a data use purpose could be monthly email newsletters.
- **[Add Communications to Your Site with the Preference Manager Component](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ecngo_use_the_nonprofit_experience_manager_app.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
After relating a communication to a Data Use Purpose, you need to expose it on your site using the Preference Manager Component. You can include up to 10 types of Data Use Purposes in the component.
- **[Map Site Registration Fields to Contact Fields](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ecngo_use_the_nonprofit_experience_manager_app.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Set up mappings so that information entered into registration fields automatically maps to a Contact record, preventing the creation of duplicate records
- **[Set Up Duplicate Rules](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ecngo_use_the_nonprofit_experience_manager_app.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Set up duplicate rules to ensure that Salesforce doesn't create duplicate Contacts when people register on your Nonprofit Experience Cloud site. For example, set up a duplicate rule for Email so that a person can't register multiple times with the same email address.

## Create Communications for Your Experience Cloud Site

Data Use Purposes represent the communications and subscriptions for your site. For example, a data use purpose could be monthly email newsletters.

1. In the Nonprofit Experience Manager app, click the **Data Use Purpose** tab.
2. Click **New**.
3. Enter a name for the communication.
4. Optionally, enter a description.
5. Make sure to include the opt-out checkbox.
6. Save your work.

## Add Communications to Your Site with the Preference Manager Component

After relating a communication to a Data Use Purpose, you need to expose it on your site using the Preference Manager Component. You can include up to 10 types of Data Use Purposes in the component.

1. In the Quick Find box in Setup, enter Sites, then select **All Sites** under Digital Experiences.
2. In the row for your site, click **Builder**.
3. Click the Preference Manager component on your page. If the component isn't on your page, drag it over from the Custom Components section of the Components list.
4. In a Communication Preference field, select your communication.
5. In the corresponding Communication Type field, select the method of communication.
6. Be sure to preview, then publish the changes to your site.
7. Have more than 10 communications you want to display? Add another Preference Manager component to the page and follow the same steps.

Note If you later delete a Data Use Purpose, make sure you also remove it from the Preference Manager and republish your site.

## Map Site Registration Fields to Contact Fields

Set up mappings so that information entered into registration fields automatically maps to a Contact record, preventing the creation of duplicate records

1. Click the **Contact Registration Mapping** tab.
2. Click **New**.
3. Select the Registration Field to map.
4. Select one or more Contact fields to map to and move them to the Selected list.
5. Save your work.

## Set Up Duplicate Rules

Set up duplicate rules to ensure that Salesforce doesn't create duplicate Contacts when people register on your Nonprofit Experience Cloud site. For example, set up a duplicate rule for Email so that a person can't register multiple times with the same email address.

1. In the Quick Find box in Setup, enter duplicate rules, then click Duplicate Rules.
2. Click **New Rule**, the select **Contact**.
3. Give the rule a name and description.
4. Select the Record-Level Security.
5. Choose what you want to have happen when duplicate information is entered.
6. Set the conditions you want to use for the fields.
7. Save and activate the rule.
