# Create and Use Reusable Collections

Build program plans more efficiently with reusable collections, which are course groups that appear in multiple program plans. For example, you can create a “General Education” collection of courses that applies to several different program plans.

## Create a Reusable Collection

- You can create a reusable collection as a learning program with the Learning Program Wizard. Then, in the Program Plan Builder, when you add the Reusable Collection element, enter that learning program as the learning achievement. See [Create a Learning Program](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ec_create_a_learning_program.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use the Learning Wizard in the Education Cloud Academic Operations app to create a learning program.").
- You can also create a reusable collection in the Program Plan Builder with the Learning Achievement properties section of the Elective Courses element. You can enter the name of the new reusable collection in the Learning Achievement field, and then add courses directly in the properties panel.

## Considerations for Using Reusable Collections

- A learning program defined as top-level can’t be a reusable collection in another program plan.
- When you create a program plan with a reusable collection, the reusable learning program plan is related to the learning program plan requirement record.
- If you select a reusable collection that has a learning achievement with an Achievement Group record type, only the related courses show in the program plan summary view.
