Important The Financial Aid Agent and portal components for unauthenticated users require Data Cloud guest and portal user access. Verify that this feature is available in your org before configuring Experience Cloud portal access.

1. Turn on Data 360 and enable Person Accounts.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Data Cloud Setup, and select **Get Started** to provision Data 360.
    2. From Setup, find and select **Person Accounts**, and ensure they are enabled.

        This step is required for one-time password email verification to work.
2. To provide the agent access to your institution's financial aid data, ensure that your financial aid management system is mapped to Data 360.

    Ensure that your source data uses the field values the agent expects. If your source system uses different values, use a formula field on the data stream to remap them before mapping to the DMO. See [Financial Aid Components](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ec_financial_aid_components.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Learn how the financial aid components display data and calculate totals for students, prospects, and staff.").
3. Configure CDP feature mapping.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select **Set Up Data Space Mappings**.
    2. Select **New**, set these values, and then save your changes.

        - **Data Space**: your data space
        - **Feature**: Financial Aid
4. Set up the Data Graph for Financial Aid.
    1. In Data Cloud, create a Data Graph from the Financial Aid Data Kit.

        To change the refresh frequency, clone the Data Graph and adjust the schedule on the clone. If you clone the Data Graph, note the API name of the clone.
    2. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select **Configure Financial Aid**.
    3. In the Financial Aid Data Graph section, enter the API name of your Data Graph in the **Data Graph API Name** field, and then save your changes.

        The default is Financial\_Aid\_Clone. If you cloned the Data Graph, enter the API name of your clone. The system validates that the Data Graph exists before saving.
5. Turn on the Financial Aid Agent.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select **Set Up Education Cloud**.
    2. In the **Set Up Agentforce for Education Cloud** section, turn on **Financial Aid Inquiry Agent**.
6. Build and configure the agents in **Agentforce Studio**.
    1. From the App Launcher, select **Agentforce Studio**.
    2. Create an Agentforce Service Agent (ASA) for unauthenticated public portal prospects.
    3. Add the **Describe Financial Aid Awards** topic to the agent.

        Salesforce automatically imports the prompt templates, invocable actions, and verification actions.
7. Assign these permission sets to the agent user:

    - Agentforce Service Agent Object Access
    - Agentforce Service Agent Secure Base
    - Data Cloud User
    - Education Cloud AI Agent Access
    - Einstein for Education Cloud Access
    - Financial Aid Agent Access
    - Prompt Template User
    - Run Flows
8. Set up the email verification process.
    1. [Create a filter](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.agent_asset_filters.htm&type=5&language=en_US) that restricts access to verified users.

        Name the filter Verified User, select **All conditions must be met**, and add these conditions:

        - **isVerified** Equals True
        - **VerifiedCustomerId** Is Not Empty
9. Configure the actions in the **Describe Financial Aid Awards** subagent.
    1. On the Subagents panel, select **Describe Financial Aid Awards**, and then click the **This Subagent's Actions** tab.
    2. Select the **Send Email Verification Code** action, and map this variable to its output.

        | Variable | Output |
        | --- | --- |
        | authenticationKey | Authentication Key |
    3. Select the **Verify Email Code** action, and map this variable to its input.

        | Variable | Input |
        | --- | --- |
        | authenticationKey | Authentication Key |
    4. Map these variables to the outputs of the **Verify Email Code** action.

        | Variable | Output |
        | --- | --- |
        | isVerified | Is Verified |
        | VerifiedCustomerId | Verified Contact ID |
    5. Select the **Answer Financial Aid Question** action. On the **Learner ID** input, from the Map to Variable dropdown, select **VerifiedCustomerId**.
    6. On the **Answer Financial Aid Question** action's details panel, select the **Verified User** filter. Save your changes.
10. Ensure that individual records imported from your financial aid management system into Data 360 are synced to Salesforce CRM as Person Accounts.

    The agent's identity verification relies on matching a Data 360 individual to a CRM Person Account. To implement this sync, use your organization's extract, transform, and load (ETL) tool, such as MuleSoft, Informatica, or Salesforce Data Loader, to create Person Account records in Salesforce CRM using the same data set being imported into Data Cloud. This approach gives you full control over timing, transformation, error handling, and audit trails.

    ![Tip](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-education_cloud-264-0-0-production-enus/89403874-2a89-4126-b574-9db175c14f28/images/icon_tip.png)

    Tip Configure your extract, transform, and load process to check whether a matching Person Account already exists in CRM before creating a new one to avoid duplicates.
11. Enable enhanced event logs to keep a record of agent interactions for compliance review.

    See [Enable Enhanced Event Logs](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.copilot_setup_enhanced_event_logs.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
12. Activate and deploy the agent to Experience Cloud.
    1. In Agentforce Studio, open the agent and click **Activate**.
    2. From Setup, configure your Messaging Channels and Embedded Service Deployments.
    3. In Experience Builder, drag your **ASA** component to your public financial aid page.
13. To improve the user experience, turn off streaming responses on your Experience Cloud site.
    1. [Add markup to the page `<head>`](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.community_builder_page_head.htm&type=5&language=en_US) by entering this script.

        ```
        <script type='text/javascript'>
           window.addEventListener("onEmbeddedMessagingReady", () => {
                // Embedded Messaging app ready
                embeddedservice_bootstrap.settings.disableStreamingResponses = true;
            });
        </script>
        ```
    2. In Security & Privacy, [select a security level](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.networks_security_csp_scriptlevel.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

        For Security Level, select **Relaxed CSP: Permit Access to Inline Scripts and Allowed Hosts**.
    3. Add your Experience Cloud site as a trusted site for scripts. See [Where to Allow Hosts of Script Resources](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.networks_security_csp_allow.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

        To locate the URL of your site, from Setup, find and select **Digital Experiences**, and then click **All Sites**. Find the URL of your site in the All Sites list view.
    4. Publish your site.
