# Set Up Education Intelligence

To access dashboards, visualizations, metrics, and the Education Cloud Semantic Data Model (SDM), install Education Intelligence.

### Required Editions

## Prerequisites for the Education Intelligence Installation

Before you install Education Intelligence, complete these steps.

1. [Set up Data 360 for Education Cloud](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ec_set_up_data_cloud_for_education_cloud.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Get your Education Cloud org ready to use Data 360.").
2. [Turn on Tableau Next](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=analytics.tua_admin_enable_tableau.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
3. [Turn on Metric Insight Summary](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=analytics.tua_admin_enable_metric_insight.htm&type=5&language=en_US) in Tableau Next Setup.
    
    Only turn on Metric Insight Summary. The TableauFollowMetrics permission set isn’t a requirement.
4. [Install the C360 semantic model](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.sales_insights_install_c360sdm.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
5. [Install the Education Cloud data kit bundle](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ec_data_cloud_for_education_deploy_an_education_data_kit_data_stream.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Deploy an Education data kit data stream to collect data from Education Cloud and store it in Data 360."). The data kit packages Data 360 components, such as data streams and calculated insights, and helps you deploy the components in your org. Use the components to import learner data into Data 360, fuel actionable insights, and power custom applications across the learner lifecycle.").

## Install Education Intelligence

1. From Setup, find and select **Templated Apps**.
2. Click **Templates**.
3. Find **Education Intelligence**, and from the **Action** dropdown, click **Create App**.
4. Select the data space that you deploy your Education Cloud data streams to. See [Deploy an Education Data Kit Data Stream](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ec_data_cloud_for_education_deploy_an_education_data_kit_data_stream.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Deploy an Education data kit data stream to collect data from Education Cloud and store it in Data 360.").
    
    Make sure that you [associate this data space with the Education Cloud Full Access permission set](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_data_spaces_associate_perm_sets.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
5. Click **Next**.
6. To rename the app, enter an app name.
7. Click **Create**.
8. On the Monitor page in the App Hub, track the installation progress. If anything fails, find error details on this page.
9. To get updates to Education Intelligence, update the app.
    1. From Setup, find and select **App Hub**.
    2. Find Education Intelligence, and from the **Action** dropdown, click **Update**.
    3. Complete the update by using the guided setup.
10. If you’ve updated the app or if your previous update attempt failed, reconfigure the app or create another version.
    
    To reconfigure the app, from the **Action** dropdown in Education Intelligence, click **Reconfigure**. To create another version of the app, click **Create as New**. Then complete the update by using the guided setup.

Now, you can access the Tableau Next components and the Education Cloud SDM in the Education Intelligence app. From the App Launcher, find and select **Tableau Next**, and then from the search bar, find and select **Education Intelligence**.

To make sure that the insights come from the correct data streams, deploy the related data stream bundles.
