Before you start, [set up Course Search](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ec_set_up_course_search.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "To make upcoming and past courses and section details easily searchable on your Experience Cloud site, configure Course Search.") and [turn on Advanced Academic Operations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ec_advanced_academic_operations.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use Advanced Academic Operations to extend Education Cloud with student information system (SIS) capabilities that streamline and automate academic processes.").

1. Update your existing course offering records in bulk to populate the Availability Status field automatically.

Use Data Loader, an Apex script, or another method of your choice. This record update makes sure that Advanced Search returns accurate availability results for course offerings created before Summer '26. If you have many closed courses, set those course offerings to Closed for completed academic sessions. Then update only current and future course offering records.
2. To use the Section Meeting Days search field, [set up the Section Meeting Days field for Advanced Search](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ec_set_up_meeting_days_for_advanced_search.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Provide students with a search field based on section meeting days. To use the Section Meeting Days field in Advanced Search, grant field access and update the day-of-week fields on course offering schedule records by modifying a flow.").

The setup process requires you to modify a flow to update the day-of-week fields on course offering schedule records and grant the necessary field access.
3. Make Advanced Search available on your Experience Cloud site.
    1. From Setup, find and select **Digital Experiences**, and then select **All Sites**.
    2. Open the Experience Builder of your Experience Cloud site.
    3. On your Course Search page in Experience Builder, click the **Course Search** component.
    4. In the Advanced Search Fields section on the configuration panel, select the search fields that you want to make available in Advanced Search.
    5. To add more fields, in the Additional Advanced Search Fields section, click **Select**, and then add up to 15 fields.

Advanced Search supports date, checkbox, picklist, and number fields on the Course Offering, Learning Course, and Learning objects.
    6. Save your selections.
    7. Publish the site.
