# Pause or Resume a Recurring Gift Commitment in Education

Pause a recurring gift commitment to temporarily discontinue or skip some installments in an associated gift commitment schedule. You can resume the commitment when the donor is ready to restart payment. If you pause a schedule after its start date, the unpaid gift transactions with due dates that fall within the pause period are removed.

1. From the App Launcher (![App Launcher](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-education_cloud-264-0-0-production-enus/89403874-2a89-4126-b574-9db175c14f28/resources-product/images/fundraising/icon_applauncher.png)), find and select **Gift Commitments**.
2. ​Select the gift commitment that you want to change.
3. To pause a schedule, click ![Show More](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-education_cloud-264-0-0-production-enus/89403874-2a89-4126-b574-9db175c14f28/resources-product/images/actions_menu.png)and then select **Pause**.
    1. Select the gift commitment schedule.
    2. Select the pause dates.
        
        If you pause a schedule after its start date, the schedule splits and a new schedule with the type Pause Transactions is created for the specified period.
    3. Save your changes.
4. To resume a schedule, click ![Show More](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-education_cloud-264-0-0-production-enus/89403874-2a89-4126-b574-9db175c14f28/resources-product/images/actions_menu.png)and then select **Resume**.
    1. Select the paused schedule.
    2. Select the date to resume the commitment.
    3. Save your changes.
