# Create Person Traits

Create a list of a student’s traits in Education Cloud to reflect their current profile, such as strengths and opportunities.

### Required Editions

Before you begin:

- [Set Up Your Org for Career Planning and Life Goals](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ec_set_up_org_for_career_planning_and_life_goals.htm&language=en_US)
- Define values for the Category, Source, and Type picklists in the Person Trait object using the Object Manager. By default, these picklists have no values.

1. From the App Launcher, find and select **Person Traits**.
2. Click **New**.
3. Enter a name.
4. Select the type of the person trait.
5. Select the category of the person trait.
6. Select a contact associated with the person trait.
7. Select the information source of the person trait.
8. Save your changes.
