# Create a Delegate Access Definition

Combine a delegated access dataset and a permission set into an access option. Students see these definitions on the portal when delegating access to proxies.

### Required Editions

To create delegate access definition:

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Education Cloud, and then select **Delegated Access Management**.
2. Under Delegate Access Definitions, click **New**.
3. Enter the definition name and description. For example, enter Student academic data as the name and Grants proxy access to student academic and enrollment data as the description.
4. Select a delegate access data set data bundle and its related permission set. For example, select **Student academic data** as the delegate access data set and **Education Cloud for Experience Cloud Access** as the permission set.
5. Select **Active** and **Show On Portal**.
    
    You can’t modify an active delegate access definition.
6. Save your changes.
7. If you no longer need the definition, from the definition’s actions menu, select **Archive**.
