Use the guided setup to include multiple educational characteristic requirements in a rule. For example, define a requirement that accepts juniors and seniors, or one that accepts juniors or seniors only with an Honors status.

### Required Editions

## Create a Rule with AND or OR Logic

1. From the App Launcher, find and select **Educational Characteristic Requirements**.
2. Click **New from Educational Characteristic Requirements Wizard**.
3. Enter a name.
4. (Optional) Select **Visible to Student**.
5. Configure the requirement logic.
    1. For Requirement Logic, select **All selected items (AND)** or **Any selected items (OR)**.
    2. Click **Add**.
    3. For Requirement Type, select **Educational Characteristic** or **Educational Characteristic Requirement**.
    4. Select a record.
        
        Only active records are available.
    5. Add more characteristics or requirements as needed.
    6. Click **Create Requirement**.

## Create a Rule with Custom Logic

1. From the App Launcher, find and select **Educational Characteristic Requirements**.
2. Click **New from Educational Characteristic Requirements Wizard**.
3. Enter a name.
4. (Optional) Select **Visible to Student**.
5. Configure the requirement logic.
    1. For Requirement Logic, select **Custom**.
    2. Click **Add**.
    3. For Requirement Type, select **Educational Characteristic** or **Educational Characteristic Requirement**.
    4. Select a record.
        
        Only active records are available.
    5. Add more characteristics or requirements as needed.
    6. In Custom Requirement Logic, enter your custom logic. For example, (1 AND 2) OR 3.
    7. Click **Create Requirement**.
