1. Create assessments as needed.
    1. Create an Omniscript form and add your assessment questions. See [Create an Assessment with Discovery Framework](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleview?id=ind.create_an_assessment_with_discovery_framework.htm).
    2. Click **Build Omniscript**.
    3. Select **Pulse Check** as the usage type, and then save your changes.
    4. In Omnistudio Designer, click the Save Responses remote action element to select it.
    5. In Remote Action Properties, expand Messaging Framework, and then select **PubSub**.
    6. Enter assessmentId as the key.
    7. Enter %assessmentId% as the value.
    8. Save your changes.
    9. Preview and activate the form.
2. Create a sharing rule to provide access to the Omniprocess:
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Sharing Settings and select it.
    2. In the Sharing Rules related list for Omniprocesses, click **New**.
    3. Enter a name and label for the rule.
    4. Under Select your rule type, select **Based on criteria**.
    5. Add the criteria as shown in this table:

        | Field | Operator | Value |
        | --- | --- | --- |
        | Designer Customization Type | equals | Discovery Framework |
        | Discovery Framework Usage Type | equals | Pulse Check |
        | Type | equals | YourOmniScriptType |
        | Sub Type | equals | YourOmniScriptSubType |
    6. Under Select the users to share with, select **Public Groups of All Customer Portal Users**.
    7. Under Select the level of access for the users, select **Read Only**.
    8. Save your changes.
3. Configure a standard decision matrix to calculate the response values scores for the submitted pulse checks. See [Create Standard Decision Matrices](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleview?id=ind.create_standard_decision_matrices_0.htm).
    1. Create a standard decision matrix with these settings:

        | Column Header | Header Type | Data Type |
        | --- | --- | --- |
        | Question | Input | Text |
        | Option | Input | Text |
        | ResponseValueScore | Output | Number |
    2. Populate the decision matrix with the questions and options from your pulse check assessment, and enter an appropriate response value score for each option.

        | Question | Option | ResponseValueScore |
        | --- | --- | --- |
        | How do you feel today? | Not so good | 0 |
        | How do you feel today? | Fine | 1 |
        | How do you feel today? | Good | 2 |
        | Are you excited about next week’s class? | Not looking forward to it | 0 |
        | Are you excited about next week’s class? | Maybe/A little excited | 1 |
        | Are you excited about next week’s class? | Yes, can’t wait! | 2 |

You can also create a decision matrix for multiple assessments.
4. Use the Update Assessment Question Response Score flow template to create a record triggered flow, and then activate the flow. See [Configure and Clone the Flows to Evaluate Assessment Scores](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleview?id=ind.hc_admin_assessments_configure_assessment_score_flow.htm).

When a pulse check response is submitted, the response value score field for the related assessment question response record is updated. The response score values are used to plot the score graph for the learner's pulse check.

- **[Create Assessment Questions with Icon Responses](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ec_create_assessment_questions_with_icon_responses.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Use the icon data type in Education Cloud to create pulse check assessment questions that students can respond to with emojis. Create a rating scale by assigning numeric values to the icon responses and view the student’s sentiments over time with score graphs.
