# Create Another Learning Course Version

Create another version of an existing learning course to capture changes to its name, credits, requirements, or other details without affecting students enrolled in earlier versions.

Before you begin, create your own active version of the EDU Course Operations: Update Learning Status flow. This flow sets each version's status to Draft, Published, or Archived based on whether the version is active, so that related records and program plans show the correct versions.

Another version of a course replaces the prior one and satisfies the same requirements. Earlier versions stay intact with their enrollment data. Multiple versions of a course can be active simultaneously to serve different student cohorts during a transition. When you're ready to retire a prior course version, make it inactive. On the Experience Cloud site, students continue to see the version they enrolled in, so their progress and records stay accurate.

To create another learning course version:

1. From the App Launcher, find and select **Learning Courses**.
2. Select the latest version of an existing learning course and click **New Version**.

    Note Always create course versions in the Learning Wizard. Manual updates to learning, learning outcome, or learning achievement records in a version chain break the link that identifies which version a student took. To change a learning achievement, create another course version in the Learning Wizard.
3. Enter new course version details.
    1. Update the name for this course version.
    2. Enter a change description.
    3. Make this version active.
    4. Update other course details.
4. Update details of prerequisites, corequisites, pre/corequisites, linked courses, recommendations, and other criteria.
    
    For example, to assign specific versions of learning courses as prerequisites, go to the Prerequisites tab. For Achievement Type, select **Learning Courses**, and then select the correct version of the prerequisite learning course. To review the version information of the selected learning course, click **View Details**.
5. Update learning outcomes.
6. Save your changes.

After you create another course version, the learning course record shows its version number and change description. Review the full version history on the Learning Course Versions tab.
