# Configure Search Criteria for Learning Programs

Create a search criteria configuration for your learning programs in Campus and Program Finder. Define the fields that users use as filter criteria and the fields that they see for the search results. Select the fields that users use to sort and aggregate the results. Finally, select the actions that the user can take on the search records and define the location parameters.

Before you start, [configure card view and Request for Information for learning programs](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ec_configure_card_rfi_for_learning_programs.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Give applicants, students, and families an easy way to view and request more information about learning programs. To present details of learning programs in cards and collect requests for information, configure the EDU Admissions: Create Inquiries from Learning Programs flow and the subflows that it calls, and then configure Flexcards. These configurations support students and applicants to request information about learning programs one at a time.").

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Criteria and then select **Criteria-Based Search and Filter**.
2. On the Search Configuration tab, click **New**.
3. Select **Default Search** as the configuration type, and then click **Next**.
4. Provide basic details.
    1. Enter a name for the configuration. For example, enter Search by Learning Program.
        
        The API Name populates automatically.
    2. For Searchable Object, search for and select **Educational Institution Searchable Profile**.
    3. For Searchable Object Configuration, select the Educational Institution Searchable Profile searchable object configuration that you created.
    4. Optionally, enter a description.
    5. Click **Next**.
5. Select fields for querying data.
    1. Add the Learning Program Name field.
    2. Click **Next**.
6. For the search result display format, select **Card**, and then click **Next**.
7. Select your version of the EDUAdmissionsLearningProgramCardContainer Flexcard as the name, and then click **Next**.
8. Define the distance criteria.
    1. For Unit of Measure, select **Miles**.
    2. For Value, enter the maximum relative distance range. For example, enter 20 and then click **Add** to find learning programs within a 20-mile range.
    3. If desired, add distance range values of 15, 10, 5, and 1 to incrementally extend the scope of learning program search.
    4. For Relative Location, select **Address**.
    5. Turn on **Show Map**.
    6. Click **Next**.
9. Configure map markers.
    1. For Map Marker Title, select **Educational Institution Name**.
    2. For Map Marker Description, select **Educational Institution Type**.
    3. Click **Next**.
10. Select fields to group and aggregate search results.
    1. For Result Display Mode, select **Multiple Fields**.
    2. Add up to 20 selected fields. For a learning program, we recommend:
        
        - Learning Category
        - Learning Format
        - Learning Grade
        - Learning Program Name
        - Provider Name
    3. Leave **Skip configuring advanced filters and range types** unchecked.
    4. Click **Next**.
11. For Configure Range Types, click **Next**.
12. Select fields to sort search results.
    1. Add up to 20 selected fields. For a learning program, we recommend:
        
        - Educational Institution Name
        - Learning Academic Level
        - Learning Program Name
        - Provider Name
    2. Click **Next**.
13. Click **Done**.
14. Click **Activate**.
