Before you start:

- [Enable Program and Benefit Management](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.prog_case_mgmt_prog_mgmt_prereqs.htm&type=5&language=en_US) so that the Data Processing Engine definition can access support and benefit management objects, even if your org doesn’t explicitly use Program and Benefit Management.
- [Enable State and Country/Territory Picklists](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.admin_state_country_picklist_enable.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Data Processing Engine and then select **Data Processing Engine**.
2. In the All Data Processing Engine Definitions view, select **Maintain Searchable Campus Data**, and then save it as a new Data Processing Engine definition.
3. Accept all default configurations and save them, and then activate your new Data Processing Engine definition.

Run the activated Data Processing Engine definition by using a flow or from the definitions view. Data Processing Engine jobs are subject to daily or monthly limits. See [Transform Education Cloud Data with Data Processing Engine](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ec_transform_education_cloud_data_with_data_processing_engine.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use Data Processing Engine (DPE) to transform the data that's available in your Salesforce org and write back the transformation results as new or updated records. For example, you can use DPE and flows to set up and maintain person public profile records for your alumni community.").
