## Manage Client ID

Use Client IDs to identify and keep track of clients.

If your organization has client IDs from an existing system, you can add them to the Client ID field on a client's Contact record. You can also use the Client ID Generator, which your Salesforce admin can [configure](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.cm_customize_client_card.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "The Client Card displays at the top of a Contact record and shows all of the most important information about a Contact, including name, a photo, contact information, critical alerts, and Client ID."), to automatically create and assign a unique ID.

1. From a client's Contact record or an Intake, click **Manage Client ID**.
2. Enter a Client ID, or click **Generate Random Client ID**.
3. Click **Update**.

## Add Client to a Watch List

Add a client to a Watch List if they need heightened attention from your staff.

To add a client to a watch list:

1. On a client’s Contact record, click the **Details** tab.
2. Next to **Watch List**, click ![Pencil icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-case_management-264-0-0-production-enus/4bf5cafc-4c98-4543-b5bf-3b2a6d34e498/case_management/images/pencilicon.png).
3. Select **Watch List**.
4. Click **Save**.

To remove a client's Watch List designation, deselect **Watch List**.

## Create Client Alerts

Use Client Alerts to track important information about the client that will display on their Client Card.

To create a Client Alert:

1. On a client's Contact record, click the **Related** tab.
2. In the Client Alerts related list, click **New**.
3. Give the Client Alert an informative name, for example, Robin was recently released from rehab or Tom has an acute peanut allergy and carries an EpiPen.
4. Make sure **Active** is selected.
5. Click **Save**.

To remove a Client Alert, deselect **Active**.

## Log a Client Incident

Use client incidents to track client events that need to be documented.

Create an Incident if something happened involving the client that needs to be documented.

1. At the top of a client's Contact record, click **New Incident**.
2. Enter information about the incident.
3. Click **Save**.
4. Refresh the browser page to see the Incident listed on the Incidents component.
5. Click the incident link to see incident details. Click **Back to List** to return to the list of incidents, or click **Go to Incident Details** to view the complete incident record.
