Note Starting in March 2023, Salesforce offers Accounting Subledger built on the core Salesforce platform. This article provides information about that product. For information about the managed packaged version of Accounting Subledger, see [Accounting Subledger Legacy Documentation](https://sfdo-docs.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Accounting_Subledger_Legacy_Documentation.pdf). If you're not sure which version your institution uses, check with your Salesforce administrator.

- **[Object Models for Accounting Sets](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.asl_object_models.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Accounting sets enable you to specify which objects and fields store your source data and how to generate transaction journal records from it. It's a flexible approach that lets you map your financial data model to a logical data model, supporting from one to four objects, including the Fund Account object. Each accounting set represents a set of financial data, such as revenue from gifts or expenses from fees.
- **[Map Your Source Data to Accounting Sets](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.asl_map_your_source_data_to_accounting_sets.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Choose which source record fields to use for transaction journal records generation by mapping them to accounting set fields.
- **[Configure Accounting Set Settings](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.asl_configure_accounting_set_settings.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
After you map source fields to accounting set destination fields, configure how Accounting Subledger generates transaction journal records for each accounting set.

- **[Manage Accounting Sets](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.asl_manage_accounting_sets.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
When you're done configuring accounting sets, activate them. After you do so, you can no longer change the object model but you can deactivate it in order to update its other settings.
