# Admissions Connect Security

Admissions Connect provides a flexible approach to security that uses standard Salesforce profiles, permission sets, and sharing settings. This approach lets you expose different data sets to different groups of users. For example, admissions directors typically have more permissions than a reviewer or verifier.

- **[Admissions Connect Security](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ac_security.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
To specify objects and fields users can access, use permission sets and profiles. Use organization-wide sharing settings to specify the individual records that users can view and edit.
- **[Set Up User Profiles for Admissions Connect](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ac_security_profiles.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Create user profiles, set up app access, assign page layouts, and customize object and tab visibility.
- **[Assign the Admissions Connect Permission Sets](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ac_security_permission_sets.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Admissions Connect provides permission sets to help you manage access to objects, fields, and the app. Permission sets are additive—they only grant access, they can’t take it away. You can assign multiple permission sets as needed, and it doesn't matter what profile a user has. Keep in mind that Users can have only one profile, but they can have multiple permission sets.
- **[Configure Sharing Settings for Admissions Connect](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ac_security_sharing_settings.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Your organization-wide default sharing settings give you a baseline level of access for each object and enable you to extend that level of access to your Admissions Connect users.
