Admissions Connect provides default page layouts, compact layouts, Lightning record pages, and other assets for many of the objects that the app uses. You can customize these assets for your institution. For example, you might want to change the fields in the highlights panel, remove or add buttons, or update Tab labels.
- **[Customize the Page Layout](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ac_config_page.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
You can change the fields displayed for the record page, edit the standard buttons, add related lists, and customize other aspects of page layouts.

Then, for example, when admission processors select a specific Test Type, they see only the relevant subjects in the Subject Area field.
- **[Customize Picklist Values](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ac_config_page.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**

## Admissions Connect Default Page Assets

Admissions Connect provides default page layouts, compact layouts, Lightning record pages, and other assets for many of the objects that the app uses. You can customize these assets for your institution. For example, you might want to change the fields in the highlights panel, remove or add buttons, or update Tab labels.

Note Most of these assets are unmanaged, which means you won't receive updates to them automatically. To review detailed information, including a list of the assets and how they're configured, see [Admissions Connect Default Page Configurations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.ac_default_page_ref.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Admissions Connect provides default page layouts, compact layouts, Lightning record pages, and other assets for many of the objects that the app uses. This article includes general steps to customize your record pages. If you’re not familiar with Salesforce and need a bit more help, review the links to Salesforce Help.

Or you might want to change the name of some of the tabs on the page, or rearrange them entirely. You make those changes in Lightning App Builder.

You can access the Lightning App Builder in a few ways.

- From the Admissions Connect app, go to a record page. Click ![Gear icon with a lightning bolt inside it](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-admissions_connect-264-0-0-production-enus/00d22f0a-1ca4-4493-a967-a738a2defcb1/admissions_connect/images/setup_gear_icon_bolt.png), then click **Edit Page**.
- From Setup, in Object Manager, click the object name for the page you want to edit. Click **Lightning Record Pages** and click on one of our default pages. Then click **Edit**.

Note To ensure that the Reviewer Application Reader component’s scrolling functionality works, don’t add other components below it on the page.

For more information, see [Lightning App Builder](https://help.salesforce.com/articleview?id=lightning_app_builder_overview.htm&type=5) in Salesforce Help.

## Customize Test Score Record Types

Make it easy to enter test information by using record types for the Test Score object. Record types let you configure the relationships between test types and their subject areas. Then, for example, when admission processors select a specific Test Type, they see only the relevant subjects in the Subject Area field.

Admissions Connect provides sample Test Score record types that have predefined Subject Area picklist values. The sample Test Score record types include ACT, AP, IB, and SAT.

Whether you use the sample record types or create your own, be sure to configure the relationships between the Test Type field on the Test object and Subject Area field on the Test Score object.

1. From the object management settings for Test Score, go to Record Types.
2. Click on a Record Type, and then edit the Subject Area field.
3. Choose the Subject Area values that you want available with the record type.
4. Save your changes.
5. Check to make sure that the appropriate user profiles have access to the Test Score record types.

Note If creating your own Test Score record type, add a new corresponding value to the Test Type field on the Test object. Make sure that the Test Type and Record Type have the same name.

## Customize Picklist Values

Your admissions process is unique to your institution. Your process might require you to add or edit picklist values, such as the ones for the Admissions Recommendation field on the Application Review object. Edit picklist values in Setup.

1. From Setup, in Object Manager, click the object that provides the field you want to customize.
2. Click **Fields & Relationships**, then click the field name.
3. Click **New** in the Picklist Values list.
4. Enter your new values, then save your changes.

For more information, see [Add or Edit Picklist Values](https://help.salesforce.com/articleview?id=updating_picklists.htm&type=5) in Salesforce Help.

## Customize the Application Path Component

The Application page includes a Path component at the top of the page that helps admissions staff quickly view and update the Application Review Status. The Application Review Status field identifies where an Application is in the review process.

The order of the path is based on the order of the picklist values for the Application Review Status field. You can customize the values and order.

1. From Setup, in Object Manager, click **Application**.
2. Click **Fields & Relationships**, then click **Application Review Status**.
3. Scroll down to the Values section.
4. To reorder the values, click **Reorder**.
5. To add or update existing values, click **New** or **Edit**.
6. Save your changes.

The path provides guidance for your admissions team. You can customize the text that displays for each status. You can even add a confetti celebration for when the path is complete.

![Path component for the Application page with the Guidance for Success region expanded](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-admissions_connect-264-0-0-production-enus/00d22f0a-1ca4-4493-a967-a738a2defcb1/admissions_connect/images/application_verify_update_status.png)

1. From Setup, search for and then select **Path Settings**.
2. Click **Edit** for the Application Review Status - Admissions path.
3. Follow along with the wizard and update the information you want.

If you don’t want to use the path, edit the Application page in Lightning App Builder and remove the Path component.

For more information, see [Guide Users with Path](https://help.salesforce.com/articleview?id=path_overview.htm&type=5) in Salesforce Help.

## Customize In-App Guidance for Reviewers

To help reviewers understand how recommendations are saved and submitted, customize the Application Review How To - Admissions Staff prompt. This prompt provides reviewers with information about how recommendations are saved and submitted.

By default, this prompt is enabled and displays for all users who access an Application Review record. The prompt is displayed two times with two days in between the occurrences. If the reviewer clicks a button to acknowledge the prompt, it’s not shown again.

![Application Review page with default in-app guidance displayed](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-admissions_connect-264-0-0-production-enus/00d22f0a-1ca4-4493-a967-a738a2defcb1/admissions_connect/images/app_in_app_guidance.png)

You can customize this prompt to limit it to certain profiles or permissions, and to change the prompt’s message, its placement on the page, or its schedule. You can even add a custom date range so that the prompt only displays during your admissions cycle.

1. From Setup, search for and then select **In-App Guidance**.
2. In the list of prompts, click the dropdown menu for the prompt, then click **Edit**.
3. Click ![Gear icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-sfdo-admissions_connect-264-0-0-production-enus/00d22f0a-1ca4-4493-a967-a738a2defcb1/resources-product/images/setup_gear_icon_1.png) to customize the prompt’s settings.
4. Save your changes.

If you don’t want to use this prompt, select Deactivate or Delete from the dropdown action menu.
