For field use cases, tailor these territories to represent geographic regions—such as cities, counties, or neighborhoods—or functional areas such as field inspections, depending on your business needs. For on-site use cases, the territory's address is your branch's location. For utility customers, service territories can include specific business units such as Gas or Electric. If you plan to build out a hierarchy of service territories, create the highest-level territories first.

1. From Salesforce Go, search for and select **Workforce Scheduling Data & Permissions**.
2. Click **Create Service Territories** and then **New Service Territory**.
3. Enter the details that identify the service territory.

    - Name: the name of the service territory.
    - Active: whether the territory is available for scheduling. This checkbox is selected by default.
    - For on-site branches: In the address section, enter the branch's location.
    - Operating Hours: search for and select the operating hours for this service territory.
4. Save your changes.
