# Set Up Marketing Cloud Engagement for the Vaccine Cloud Eligibility Package

If you plan to use Marketing Cloud Engagement to send emails and text messages (SMS) to recipients, create an installed package in Engagement and set up the Marketing Cloud Engagement API.

With Vaccine Eligibility packages, you can send emails and SMS to recipients.

First, create an installed package in Engagement.

1. Go to Engagement Setup and click **Apps**.
2. Click **Installed Packages**.
3. Click **New**.
4. Name your application, and select **Create with enhanced functionality (recommended)**.
5. Click **Save**.
6. Click **Add Component**.
7. Turn on **API Integration**.
8. Copy the client ID, client secret, and the subdomain of Authentication Base URI. You’ll use these values in your Salesforce org, so keep them somewhere safe.
9. Select **Integration Type: Web App**.
10. Add a temporary Redirect URI. You’ll update this field with your Auth Provider Callback URI later.
11. Select **Offline Access**.
12. Enable these permissions:
    1. Email: Read, Write, and Send
    2. SMS: Read, Write, and Send
13. Save the permissions you set.
14. Click **Access**.
15. Click **License All Users**.
16. Click **License All**.

Next, add Marketing Cloud Engagement API as a Salesforce authentication provider in your Salesforce org. Make sure that the vaccine eligibility packages are installed correctly before proceeding. The packages install `Marketing_Cloud_API.authprovider` and `Marketing_Cloud_API.namedCredential` into the org with placeholder values.

1. From Salesforce Setup, go to **Auth. Providers** | **Marketing Cloud API**.
2. Paste the values from your Marketing Cloud Engagement API Integration:
    1. Consumer Key: enter the Client Id.
    2. Client Secret: enter the Client Secret.
    3. Authorize Endpoint URL: use a URL with the same subdomain as the Authentication Base URI.
    4. Token Endpoint URL: use a URL with the same subdomain as the Authentication Base URI.
3. For security, if you want to exclude consumer secrets from displaying in API responses, deselect **Include Customer Secret in API Responses**.
4. Click **Save**.
5. Copy the Callback URI at the bottom of the Auth Provider.

Add the Callback URI to your Engagement package and authenticate.

1. From Engagement Setup, open your Engagement package page and click **Edit**.
2. In **Redirect URI**, paste the Callback URI.
3. Click **Save**.
4. Copy the REST Base URI.
5. From Salesforce Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Named Credentials and click **Named Credentials**.
6. Create or edit a named credential.
7. In **URL**, paste the REST Base URI (or a URL with the same subdomain).
8. Select **Start Authentication Flow on Save** if it isn’t already.
9. Click **Save**. The Engagement login page opens.
10. Log in with your username and password.
11. Verify that the named credential Authentication Status is **Authenticated**.
