# Set Up AI Knowledge Translations

AI Knowledge Translations enables customers to scale their business faster by localizing their knowledge base natively in Salesforce. AI Knowledge Translations helps you deliver faster service by using AI to translate your existing knowledge instead of service reps or translation vendors.

To use AI Knowledge Translations, you need the **Article Translation - Submit for Translation** User permission, **Create**, **Read**, and **Edit** permissions on the Knowledge object, and Einstein enabled in your org.

Before you set up AI Knowledge Translations, make sure that your knowledge base supports multiple languages, and set up the specific languages you're using.

Knowledge Translation supports 75 languages and locales.

1. In Setup, go to Einstein Setup, then enable the toggle to Turn On Einstein.
2. In Setup, enter and select **Real Time Translations**.
3. In Real Time Translations, enable the **Einstein Article Translate** toggle.
4. In the Knowledge Fields to Translate section, click Edit and select the fields on a Knowledge object you want translated.

5. **Optional:** Upload a custom data dictionary to improve your translation quality. Format your custom data dictionaries in CSV format.
6. Save your work.
