# Create and Link to Anchors

You can create anchors within rich text fields so that you can link from one place in an article to another. First create the anchor, then select the anchor with the link tool.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience. <a href="https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service.service_editions_reference.htm&amp;language=en_US" target="_blank">View supported editions</a>.</td></tr></tbody></table>

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small permission">
        <colgroup>
          <col style="width:50%">
          <col style="width:50%">
        </colgroup>
        <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">
          <tr class="">
            <th scope="colgroup" class="slds-cell-wrap" colspan="2" style="text-align:center;vertical-align:top;" id="d190382e58">User Permissions Needed</th>
          </tr>
        </thead>
        <tbody>
          <tr class="">
            <td data-label="User Permissions Needed" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d190382e58 ">To edit articles:</td>

            <td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d190382e58 ">
              <p>Allow View Knowledge AND View Draft Articles</p>
              <p style="margin-bottom:0;">Create and read on
                Knowledge</p>
            </td>

          </tr>
        </tbody>
      </table>

You have a rich text field in the article layout. Create an anchor, then insert a link to the anchor.

Anchor links work on the Knowledge Record Home Page only. They don’t work on the preview panel.
