Note We recommend the Unified Employee License for all portal users, regardless of which template your site uses. To move your existing Customer Community Plus users, see [Migrate Customer Community Plus Users to Unified Employee License](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service.it_srvcs_ccp_to_uel_migration.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Migrate your existing employee users in Agentforce IT Service from Customer Community Plus (CCP) licenses to the Unified Employee License (UEL) in a single bulk operation. Run the UEL migration tool from Setup to standardize on a single licensing model and establish employees as standard Salesforce users.").

Follow the steps in [Set Up Employees for IT Services](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service.it_srvcs_create_emp_users.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "To provide a seamless service experience, you must create Employee records using the appropriate licenses and assign the necessary privileges to ensure they have the right level of access and support.") to create your employee users with the Unified Employee License and add them as members of your portal site.

Create new employee users with the Customer Community Plus license as follows, and [migrate to the Unified Employee License](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service.it_srvcs_ccp_to_uel_migration.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Migrate your existing employee users in Agentforce IT Service from Customer Community Plus (CCP) licenses to the Unified Employee License (UEL) in a single bulk operation. Run the UEL migration tool from Setup to standardize on a single licensing model and establish employees as standard Salesforce users.") when you're ready.

1. Create a user profile.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Profiles, then select **Profiles**.
    2. Find the Customer Community Plus User profile and clone it.
    3. Enter a name for the new profile, such as Employee Customer Profile.
    4. Save your changes.
    5. In the new profile, find Standard Object Permissions and select **Read** and **View All Fields** access for the Knowledge object.

These permissions make sure employees can see knowledge articles in the Agentic Center.
2. Create an employee.
    1. From the App Launcher, find and select **Employees**.
    2. Click **New**, add the employee details, and click **OK**.
    3. On the employee's person account record page, from Quick Actions, select **Enable Customer User**.
3. Configure user details.
    1. On the setup page for the user, set the User License to Customer Community Plus.
    2. In the Profile field, select the profile you created earlier.
    3. Save your changes.
4. Assign permission sets to the user.
    1. On the setup page for the user, under Permission Set Assignments, click **Edit Assignments**.
    2. Move the required permission sets to the Selected list, and save your changes.

See [Set Up Permission Sets and Access for the Employee Services Portal](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service.it_srvcs_portal_permissions.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Before you set up your Employee Services portal site, enable the org-level features the portal depends on. Then assign employees a license and the permission sets that give them access to the IT service records and features they need.").
5. Make the employee user profile a member of the Employee Services portal you created.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Sites, and select **All Sites** under Digital Experiences.
    2. Find your site and under the Action tab, click **Workspaces**.
    3. Click **Administration**, and then click **Members**.
    4. Under Select Profiles, switch to **All** from the Search drop-down menu.
    5. Add the profile you created earlier for the Employee Services portal to the Selected Profiles list.
    6. Save your changes.
    7. Click **Settings**.
    8. Activate the site.

The employee receives a login link and username information in the email you provided. They can create a new password and log in to the portal by using their credentials.
